Final Showdown!

Welcome to the FINAL SHOWDOWN!!! Reread "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" and "Roger the Dog."

    I like how it is so random too, and how it goes A A, and then B B.

    I like Roger the Dog's writer's craft because it rhymes and makes me remember my dog. I also liked the repetition and the description.

  8. I connect with Life Doesn't Frighten Me because, when I was little I was scared of pretty much everything, and Life Doesn't Frighten Me says that nothing scares them, which means something to me.

    Life Doesn't Frighten Me has great poet's craft like, repetition, rhyme, and metaphors/similes.

  9. I can connect with Roger The Dog because I have two really lazy dogs that lay around all day sleeping. One of them also snore SO loudly you need ear plugs to sleep with him.


    I like the poet's craft in Roger the Dog because it has a rhyme scheme AABB. I love how it tells a story about the laziest dog in the world.

    I liked Rodger The Dogs poets craft it had funny and clever rhymes and it made me feel happy when I read it.

    I think the winner of poetry madness should be Roger the Dog because Roger reminds me of myself and my own dog Dixie in many ways like toast our heads next to the fire, love our sleep, and are super lazy. II did not choose Life doesn't Frighten me because it did not remind me of any thing or any one because every one is afraid of some thing.

    I like the metaphors in Roger the Dog and the rhyme scheme very much.

    I like Life Doesn't Frighten Me more because of the connection, the poet's craft, and i liked the name more than Roger The Dog.

    My favorite poets craft was Roger the Dog's. I loved the rhyming skills and the awesome non-repetition.

  14. Roger The Dog, connects more to me because it reminds me of my two dogs how lazy they are, but even though they are lazy I still love them.

    I like the Poets craft better in, Roger The Dog, because it has better rhyming in it and it has some crazy rhyming.

  15. I made a connection to Roger the dog because I have two dogs named Maple and Mango and you will always find Mango "cleaning her dinner dish."

    I was amazed at Roger the Dogs Poets craft but the rhyming stuck out the most.

  16. I can make a connection with Roger the Dog. When I was a little kid slept a lot and was very lazy. This reminds me of Roger.

    I think Life Doesn't Frighten me has more meanig because it is more serious than Roger the Dog. In life you have to suck some stuff up and be tough.

    I like Roger the Dog the best because of the humor the poet puts into it.

  17. I made a connection to Roger The Dog because I have a cat named Lucky and my dad has a cat named Newt, and you find them eating till your out of food.

    I love the poets craft in Roger The Dog, but the words were describing my cat as he is.

    I can connect to Life Doesn't Frighten Me because life is scary, and sometimes you have to build up enough courage to say that doesn't frighten me.
    My favorite poets craft is word choice, and how some of the scary things rhyme.

  19. My favorite poem overall was Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I feel like I can make a connection with it. For example, I am not scared of many things, but when I sleep, I start getting more and more scared of lots of things.

    I like the way they put the rhyming words at the end of each phrase.

  22. I connect to "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" because I to am scared of a lot of things, some that are in the poem. Also I have come across the bridge many times to and I have needed to have found a way to face my fears and climb a bigger mountain.

    I like the poets craft best in "life Doesn't Frighten Me" the most because the rhyming and the way the poet spoke to you in a way was very thought out. I think that this poem deserves to win the showdown.

  24. I made a connection to Roger the Dog because my brother's dog, Max, is very old now and is lazy like Roger. Max is always "clearing his dish."



    I loved the poets craft because of the silly words of rhyme and the choice of words to describe Roger.

I can make a better connection with Life Doesn't Frighten Me because there are lot's of things in life that could scare me, but a lot of things in life don't scare me because I know that God will always be right by my side, and an example of something that could scare me but doesn't is when I'm about to try a new gymnastics trick that is hard.

    My favorite poets craft is Life Doesn't Fright Me because I love the rhyme, and how the person it telling the reader, and the person is also listing the things that doesn't frighten she/he.

    Life doesn't frighten me had really good word choice and great rhymes. That's why I picked Life doesn't frighten me.

  27. I can connect to the poem Roger The Dog because sometimes my two dogs Ellie and Gus act like that in the morning and at night because they had been running around and playing with my neighbor's dog Daisy, or chasing something.

    I like the poets craft better in the poem Roger The Dog because I like the way the poet used lots of metaphors and I also really like the way Roger's owner describes his dog and what he doesn't really like about him in a funny way.

  28. I made a connection with Roger the Dog because sometimes I can be really lazy, and just lie around all day. Also I made a connection with Roger the Dog because my little brother can act like a dog, and he will sleep on the end of the bed and drink water out of a bowl on the floor. He will als curl up a ball and make dog noises.

    I liked Roger the Dog's poet craft because I liked the rhyming and the repetition. I also like Roger the Dog because is a funny and cleaver poem that makes me smile.

  29. I have a connection with Life Does't frighten Me, One reason is that sometimes life does and doesn't scare us or make make us have shivers down your spine or back, but in this story life does't frighten he main character that what I like about it.

    It also has really good rhyming in this poem.

  31. I connect with Life Dosen't frighten Me because I know I am scared of things and most of the times I say I'm not scared of what ever it is. Most of the time I try to hide my fear in public but I always know that I can tell most of my friends because they always have my back. Another reson why I have a connetion with this poem is that everybody is scared of something but what I know is that God always has my back no matter who I'm with weather it is my friends,mom or dad, or even my best friends I always can rely on God to win all my battles and always be there.

    The thing I like about how the author's craft is layed out is I love how this poem rhymes and how this story tells a great lesson.
