The first poem, “The Eagle,” by Lord, Alfred Tennyson, is about an eagle that is hunting, and he jumps off a crag into the water to get a fish. It is a powerful poem which shows the eagle as king of the skies.
The second poem, “Casey at Bat,” by Ernest Lawrence Thayer, is about a baseball star that is over-confident. He lets down his team when they need him to win a game. The mood of the poem changes from the fans starting out hopeless, then hopeful when Casey comes to bat. Then the mood shifts to anger and blame at the umpire, until finally ending in defeat.
I chose the poem “Casey at Bat” because I like baseball. The author uses a rhyme scheme of AABB. The author also uses a simile to emphasize the volume of the crowd’s roar. He writes the roar is "like the beating of the storm waves on a stern and distant shore." This poem is a definite winner!
The poem,"If," is about someone doing right and wrong things.
ReplyDeleteThe poem," Who has seen the Wind?," is about how you can't see the wind, but you can see when it's passing by.
The poem," Who has seen the Wind?," is my favorite. One reason I like it is because it has personification. For example, the text says," BUt when the trees bow down their heads." I also like it because it has repetition. For example, the text says," Who has seen the wind," twice.I really like the poem," Who has seen the Wind?"

Delete"If," is about a person who is not to good and not to bad. When I read this poem I think about a advice column. "Who has seen the Wind," is a poem about the wind and who has seen it. I like the poem "Who has seen the Wind," best because I think it makes more sense and has a better rhyme scheme than "If". Finally, I like the repetition that says, "Who has seen the Wind?" Lastly, I like the personification that says, "The trees bow down their heads." "Who has seen the Wind" is the clear winner.

The rhyme scheme pattern was ABCB etc. It used repetition by saying, "Who has seen the wind?" twice. Finally, it used alliteration in the sentence, "Neither I nor you." and, "Neither you nor I."Who Has Seen the Wind?" is a more efficient poem. WONDERFUL WORDS WRITTEN BY: LUCY KATE.

"IF" is about a mom telling her son that if he does these things that he will be a man. "Who Has Seen the Wind" is about how trees bend when they are hit by fast winds they bind and how the wind is invisible.
