Here is an example of proficient writing:
The first poem, called “Some One,” is about someone who came knocking on somebody else’s door, and when he went to answer it, no one was there. The emotion is mysterious because he will never know who was knocking on his door.
The second poem, called “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me,” is a good poem about a girl telling someone that she is not scared of anything. The emotion is is happy because she is never scared of anything.
I will choose ”Life Doesn’t Frighten Me” because it is very deep and also much better than “Some One.” It also has a very good rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme is AAB. It also has very good personification. The personification is “Dragons running and going wild.” I think “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me” is a very good poem.
The second poem, called “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me,” is a good poem about a girl telling someone that she is not scared of anything. The emotion is is happy because she is never scared of anything.

The first poem,”The New Suit,” is about a man going to a party and saying what he wheres to the party. The mood of this poem this fancy with his suit and his tie. This meaning of this poem is to say to the readers what he is wearing to the party that he was going to that night. He also said that the recommendations dove him crazy. It said do not eat this ice cream or to drink slowly, so to eat that good stuff next year he is coming with old cloths.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem,”How To Eat A Poem,” is about eating a poem. It says that you do not need a napkin because it does not drizzle. There is no core in it. You do not need a knife or a spoon or a fork or a plate to eat a poem. It said do not be polite. The mood of this poem is silly because they are silly to eat a poem. The meaning of this poem is also to be a little silly on eating a poem.
I pick as my winner,”How To Eat A Poem,” because it is silly but has great points like it does not make a mess. The writer's craft is repetition which is “or.” And there is personification because you can not eat a poem. This is the winner.
The New suit.
ReplyDeleteHe wants to keep his suit clean and keep it clean for the party no ice cream it might drip no juice you might spill it that is why I think he wants to keep his suit clean.
The mood is careful he does not want to get his suit dirty or wet he needs to be careful doing that.
I think it is funny because he wants to keep his suit clean and he is trying so hard to keep it clean.
How to Eat a Poem.
It is about a person how wants to eat a poem he say no manners no fork no knife no napkin just hands to eat a poem.
The mood is not polite because it says at the beginning don’t be polite and no fork no knife no nothing just hands to eat a poem.
It is funny because they are eating a poem and a poem is paper marker pencil pen and sharpay.
The winner
I think the winner is “The New suit” because he tries so hard to keep the suit clean and he does not want anything to get on his new and clean suit that he got he is very gritty and hard working to keep the suit clean. That is why I think this poem is the winner.

The first poem, “The New Suit,” by Nidia Sanabria De Romero is about someone who is wearing a fancy suit to a party and is regretting wearing his new suit. He is regretting wearing the suit because he cannot do anything fun or else he will get his new suit messy. Than at the end he says that next year he will wear old dirty clothes so he can have fun, and play at the party. I think the mood is regretting because he is regretting wearing his new suit.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, “How To Eat A Poem,” by Eve Merriam is about how to eat a poem. It says that you can eat a poem in anyway. You can pick it up with your bare hands and eat it because, “There is no core or stem or rind or pit or seed or skin to throw away.” I think the mood of the poem is silly because you cannot eat an actual poem. I also think it is silly because if you eat a poem in real life than your basically eating paper.
I choose, “How To Eat A Poem,” as my winner because it is goofy and I like how it tells you how to eat a poem. I also like the repetition when it says or all he time. Finally I like the personification in it because you cannot actually eat a poem in real life. “How To Eat A Poem,” is a definite winner.

The first poem, “The New Suit,” by Nidia Sanabria De Romero, is about a kid who goes to a pool party waiting to have a good time. But, he is wearing a tie and his best shoes so he’s not having the best time. So, he’s taught himself a life lesson, never wear a suit at a birthday party.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem,”How to Eat a Poem,” by Eve Merriam, is persuading you to eat a poem because it doesn’t have a core, stem, rind, pit, seed, skin, and you don’t have to throw it away.

This one is definitely the best out of the two.

The first poem I read was called “How to Eat a Poem” by Eve Merriam. The mood of this poem is funny and appealing because it jokes that you can eat a poem. The meaning of this poem is to entertain readers with a funny story about how to eat a poem. I liked the writer's craft of how she described the juice running down your chin. She also used writer's craft because juice can’t actually run down your chin, it just drips down your chin! I enjoyed “How to Eat a Poem”
ReplyDeleteThe second poem I read was called “The New Suit” by Nidia Sanabria De Romero. The mood of this poem was funny because when it’s your birthday, you want to wear casual clothes that you can get dirty. The meaning of this poem was to entertain readers with a funny story of a boy that has to wear nice clothes to his own birthday party, but he wants to wear casual clothes that can get dirty. I enjoyed “The New Suit”
I think the winner of game #8 should be “How to Eat a Poem” by Eve Merriam. I enjoyed how the author used descriptive imagery when she describes the “Poem.” The second thing I liked about this poem was how she used the rhyme scheme of ABBCDEFGHIJ, I liked how it changed a lot. The last thing I liked about this poem was how the author used more imagery, so that the poem sounded very appealing and delicious. This poem is a total winner!

‘’The New Suit’’ is by Nidia Sanabria De Romero. It is about a guy who is wearing super fancy suit and he does not want to get it dirty. For example, he said that he has to drink the juice slowly so he doesn’t get it on his suit. He says that he will not wear nice closes next time.

The first poem,”The New Suit”, is about a person talking about what he is going to wear to a party and not to eat ice cream and not to drink juice because it might get on his new suit. I think the mood is funny because it sounds to strict.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem,”How to Eat a Poem”, is about how to eat a poem. I think the mood is weird because it is telling you how to eat a poem, and that’s not a real thing.
I choose,”How to Eat a Poem”, because it is silly and weird. The repetition has -or five times. The personification is that you can’t eat a poem

The poem, “The New Suit,” by Nidia Sanabria de Romero, is about a man wearing a nice suit and tie. Also, he was dressed up for his birthday party, but next year he decided to wear old worn clothes that would be more comfortable and he didn’t care what people think as long as he was nice and comfy. The reasons were because everyone was like don’t eat ice cream it drips, no juice it dribbles, and no chocolate bombs they may explode! These are the reasons he really wants to be comfy on his birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe poem, “How to Eat a Poem,” by Eve Merriam, was about how to eat poem, but it didn't really make any sense to be me.The reason it didn’t really make sense was because you can’t eat a actual poem and the ending was really poor and i didn’t really understand it or take it in.Lastly, I would like to re state that the way it ended was super bad and poorly written.
I choose the poem, “The New Suit,” because I loved it and really despised the other poem. The big game changer was the fact that the The New Suit really put a picture in my mind, and that picture was me or my dad in a suit at his birthday having barbecue and not having fun but having so much more fun next year.Next I will mention the writer's craft, personification when it said dribbles because juice don't or doesn’t dribble, and chocolate bombs don't explode they just don't I'm sorry I really am but they just don't explode, also alliteration when it said striped suit and terrific tie.Lastly, it used great character and meaning on what was annoying and what could have been more fun when… and all that stuff. This i s why I choose “The New Suit” as my poem.
Your Pal,
Harrison

The first poem, “The New Suit,” by Indiana Sanabria De Romero is about a guy who goes to a party, and people are telling him he has to wear this and he has to wear that, and he can’t eat ice cream because it might drip, or don’t drink juice because it might dribble. He says next year will be different because he will wear old clothes and eat all the things he couldn’t. All he wanted as to be himself. I think the mood of this poem is demanding because the people are telling him what he can and can not wear. The mood could also be unique because he just wants to be himself, and eat and wear whatever he wants.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, “How To Eat A Poem,” by Eve Merriam is about how to eat a poem. Don’t be polite, Just bite right in. You can even pick it up with your fingers. It’s easy to eat because it doesn’t have a stem, rind, pit, seed, or skin to throw away. You don’t need a napkin or a fork or even a tablecloth. I think the mood is teachable because a person is trying to teach you how to eat poem. He is trying to make suggestions on how to eat a poem, and prepare to eat a poem.
I chose the first poem,”The New Suit,” by Indiana De Romero because it trying to say you just need to be yourself. It says, “Next year will be different. I’ll wear old clothes, so I can eat ice cream and cake and even a chocolate bomb.” I think that means he doesn’t care what everyone else thinks because all he wants to do is be able to eat good food like ice cream and cake. This poem also uses alliteration such as “Striped Suits” and “Terrific Tie.” It also uses personification like a “Terrific Tie.” Ties aren’t actually terrific. This poem is great and should definitely win.

The mood is humorous but it doesn’t have a lesson. It didn’t really make sense

The mood of the first poem, “The New Suit” Indiana Sanabria De Romero is calmness, because he had to be calm when he went to the party wearing a suit, so he couldn't get messy. The meaning is to not focus on the mistakes you made, but to use them in the future.

The first “The New Suit” is about a new suit that he doesn’t want to get ruined because the suit is new. He wants to keep it new here’s an example “Don’t eat ice cream because it might drip”.
ReplyDeleteHere’s another one “drink juice slowly since it dribbles”.
The second poem How To Eat A Poem Is about someone telling you how to eat a poem exactly like the title it but really it tells you how to read it. And the part bite in means like go in the poem and read it.It basically tells you how to read it.
I choose the first poem “The New Suit” because it has Alittertion an example is “striped suit” I also like it because they use detail. And another writer's craft is repetition an example is ice cream they repeated that 2 time’s.
The mood of the first poem”The New Suit,” by Nidia Sanaria De Romero is happy but I also think it is rushing as well because at one part it says “juice, drink it slowly.” I think the meaning is to be careful with the clothes you're wearing because you do not want to ruin your clothes.
