Now that you have read through all of the poems and chosen a winner to advance to the Elite 8, the pressure has mounted. Read the winners of Game 6 and Game 8.
Choose your winner based on the following criteria:
- Which poem's meaning is more important to you?
- What personal connection can you make?
- Which poet's craft do you enjoy more? Be sure to give examples.
- Poet's craft can include: repetition, imagery, personification, rhyme, alliteration, couplets, onomatopoeia, simile/metaphor, etc
Make sure your answer is detailed and explains the three bullet points.

I chose Choosing Shoes because it is a fun poem. For example,I liked how they were choosing from all different kinds shoes.
I also liked this poem because I can make a connection.It is hard for me to chose what shoes I like best.
Finally I really liked this poem because it has poet's craft. For example, it had four quatrains and the rhyme scheme for each is AAAB. In each quatrain, the author talks about a different kinds of shoes. This is why I liked Choosing Shoes as the winner.
I also liked this poem because I can make a connection.It is hard for me to chose what shoes I like best.

I choose the winning poem as Do You Carrot All For Me because it is a funny poem because it uses a lot of play on words like "with your turnip nose." and it looks like the person was typing it with vegetable spell check.

There was lots of writer's craft in DO YOU CARROT ALL FOR ME. Some writer's craft was metaphors, for example," You are a peach" is a metaphor. Some more writer's craft I noticed was word play. For example he changed the words care at to carrot, he changed the word reddish to radish, he changed the word pair to pear and many more. One more writer's craft I noticed was an onomatopoeia. For example when he said, " My heart beets for you" even though beets is used in the vegetable form it is still saying that it beats for you.

There is not a rhyme scheme in this poem, but it still has some poet's craft. There are metaphors in "You are a peach", and "With your turnip nose, and your radish face". There is also onomatopoeia and word play with "My heart beets for you".

I liked how this poem does not have a rhyme scheme like most poems it was sweet. I also liked how it sort of has onomatopoeia when it says "My heart beets for you." I thought it was a very good poem. That is why I choose Do you carrot all for Me.
The poem I chose was Do you Carrot All for Me? Because it was pretty funny. None of the poems in the game didn't really have a meaning. But Do you Carrot All for Me? had wordplay.
