The first poem, Roger The Dog, is about a dog who is very lazy and won't get up. He uses all of his strength to eat food, so this dog is not the healthy type.
The second poem, The Falling Star, is about a boy who spots a shooting star falling through the sky and explains that it is priceless, memorable, and to be forever gone out of his life.
I think that the winner is the poem, The Falling Star. The reason I chose this poem is because it has great imagery, like when the woman stated,"Blinding the north as it went by". Another reason I chose this poem is the author uses the rhyme scheme: AA BB CC. This makes the poem fun to read and gives it a rhythm.
The first poem, The Eagle, is about a eagle that travels all around the world i think it is a lovely story. Casey at bat is about a black girl who is playing baseball and she has a lot of fun playing basketball. I think the winner is casey at bat is is touching story it has alot of detail.

I think the winner should be... The Eagle!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought that it rhymed and it caught my attention I liked how the writer of the poem came up with words that would make this poem so great and fun to read.
The first poem, The Eagle, is about a eagle who lands on a branch. It is also about how he sees the ocean under him and he dives down of the branch and starts to fly.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, Casey at Bat, is about a boy who never gets to bat at baseball games and people are cheering him on so two people hit the ball and go to bases. Then Casey comes up to bat he misses the first one and the second one. When the third one comes at him that's when he strikes out. Then everyone is mad at him.
I choose The Eagle to win, because I am in love with eagles. I also loved how he stated, " The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls" I loved how it had rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme is AAABBB.
The first poem I read was Casey at Bat, It was about a baseball player that struck out.

ReplyDeleteCasey at the Bat is about a boy who is determind to get a home run and to knock his teammates in. For the first two times he purposley strikes out. Then he thinks he is going to hit the ball, but then he strikes out.
I chose the poem, Casey at the Bat, as the winner because I like they way how they author uses a rhyme scheme that is different every other sentence. For example, the first paragraph goes AA BB. The second paragraph goes CC DD, and so on.
The first poem,The Eagle, is about an eagle getting ready to fly out from his nest is on mountain walls where there is an ocean beneath him and then he swoops down on the edge of the mountain walls.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, Casey at the Bat, is about a baseball team who is trying to win, and they are desperate for Casey to come on to the ballpark because he is so good, and they know that they will win if Casey hits the ball. So when Casey hits the ball, she gets struck out.
I choose The Eagle because when it says, 'And like a thunderbolt he falls', my whole entire body dropped because that part had a huge part of action, and I love action parts in poems and books. I noticed that the poem had rhyme scheme and similes and metaphors. That poem was the best and most exciting poem I have read in the last three games. I hope that The Eagle wins the third game.
For the first poem,Casey at the Bat, was about a boy that was good at baseball and hatted the way the boy was pitching the ball so he didn't hit the balls so he struck out and made his teem lose.

Shore it is a short poem, but it has thought and meaning. So I'm choosing, The Eagle. These poems are so different and I got to emit it was hard to choose, But I am happy with my dissension and hope you all vote for The Eagle.
The first poem, The Eagle, is about how a eagle standing on his nest on the mountain walls. Below his nest is the sea. And he dives to into the sea to catch a fish to eat.

I think the winner is, The Eagle, I think this because I really like the rhyme scheme: AAA B CC. Also I liked it because the poem didn't just say: He clasps the crag with his talons. It said: He claps the crag with crooked hands. That is why I voted for, The Eagle.

Their team was loosing 4 to 2 and they said we nead to get Casey in. and then he stroke out and in this story I found many ryhme skeams,I found TT,TT,CC,TT,SS,TT,FF,TT,AA,HH,CC,TT,HH,TT,HH,CC,AA,BB,SS,HH,GG,TT,TTGG,FF,MM.
My favorite was the Eagle because I liked how it was talking about what it does and what it is like when it is flying. I also liked the ryhmes in it.

There was also a lot of Repettion saying Casey.
The winner for me is, The Eagle because it made since and was up beat and wasnt boring. I found a simile in it to: " And like a thunderbolt he falls" That is why I choose The Eagle.

I my favorite poem was, The Eagle. I liked it because of the rhyme scheme AAABBB. I also found a allteration lonely land.
I think The Eagle, It's about an eagle that is soaring in the sky. The rhyme scheme is: AAA,BBB. Its a really nice poem and I spotted a simile. Casey at Bat was intense I spotted repetition and alliteration in the story. I believe Casey hit a walk-off grounder. The poem was good because it just went on and on and on again.

The Eagle really apealed to me because it used rhyme scheme: AAA BBB. The poem flowed and made a mental movie in my mind. I think that this poem should win because it was very clear to me.
The poem Casey The Bat is about a boy who really wants to win, but his team is losing by 2 runs. It is now Casey's turn to bat, with 2 strikes and 1 more he strikes out.

I chose The Eagle because it is so fluent and has metaphors. I also liked how it said that the eagle just falls off of the mountain top.
I think Casey at the Bat is about a 11-12 year old boy who is playing baseball. I also think that he is a very good batter and her friends are betting money in him. I though it was interesting how there was a twist on the poem and he struck out all three times. I think the people who were betting on Casey were angry that he struck out.
ReplyDeleteI think The Eagle is about an Eagle (obviously) who stands majestically on the mountain tops watching our beautiful country. Then at the end I think there talking about how he flies off the rock and soars across the ocean and land.
I think The Eagle should win because I like the fact its talking about how majestic and beautiful the Eagle really is, after all we should like the Eagle, our country's bird is the Bald EAGLE right? I also think The Eagle should win because I think its more meaningful than Casey At The Bat. It is also very detailed and metaphor.

Casey at the Bat a really long poem about how they are losing the game, and how they need Casey to win the game for them. I chose The Eagle because I love birds, and I agree that the eagle is a powerful bird.

I chose The Eagle as the winner not only because it was tense, but it was meaningful and had a lot of thought. I also have a lot of admiration for the author and read a lot of his poems. My favorite sentence was," And like a thunderbolt he falls." I also found a simile and an alleration in it. It was very touching and I hope you all will vote for The Eagle!

My favorite is Casey At Bat because I loved the metaphores and similies they used and there was a stunning 13 stanzas! I also loved the uncountable rhyme scheme.

My favorite one was the Eagle because it had better rhyme schemes. The Eagle was also better because when it said shook the seas and said it landed like a thunderbolt it shocked me.
