In writing, we have learned to improve our writing by presenting counter arguments in our essays. Given the following thesis statement, please write a "counter argument" paragraph utilizing the writing skills we have practiced in class.

Kids should have an extra month of summer vacation.

Although I think that kids should have an extra month of summer vacation some people may argue that they shouldn't. They may not want kids to have an extra month because that means that we don't spend as much time at school learning. However, that means that we will spend more time at camps and the kids will have a lot more fun. Kids should have an extra month of summer vacation.

For example, The teachers get paid to teach the kids not to let them have another month of summer vacation. However, I think that it is good for the kids to explore and to have more time on summer vacation. That is why I think that kids should have one more month of summer vacation
ReplyDeleteAlthogh I think that kids should have an extra month of summer some may say the shouldn't. They might say that its to much time playing and not anouf time learning. However,it would teach us to be independent. Kids should shourly have an extra month of summer.

Some may not want kids to have an extra month of means that they have to deal with us. However, that means we would be able to spend more time with my parents and brother and sister. Kids should have an extra month of school off.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I think that kids should have one more month of summer vacation others may argue they should not. For example, kids need the knowledge of education to be able to get into collage. If they spend an extra month out of school then they might not get the great education they deserve! On the other hand kids deserve a bit of freedom! Instead of a whole extra month of summer, what if kids only got an extra week off from school?! Overall I think that kids should have less school and more fun!

For example, If we have an extra week of summer that means we will have an extra week of school. If we had an extra week of summer than we have on more week to finish summer reading. That's why we should have an extra week of school.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I think that kids should get the same amount of summer vacation that they have of school days. Kids that go to school have to have months of it. Most of them do not like it. having a long summer is the best to me. However, If you have a longer summer vacation, it creates longer friendship with all your friends if you have play dates and sleepovers. Having a longer summer is about everyone's wildest dream they could ever imagine. They could be doing stuff in camps that they would love. There are many kind of day camps and sleep away camps for boys ans girls. If you think that we should have a longer summer than tell you teachers. I think that everyone should get the same amount of summer vacation as school.

For example, they will miss some of the starting school work. However, if kids get an extra month you get more time to play with friends and family. Kids should be able to have one more month of summer break.

However kids can do reading and math over the summer and the school year is a lot longer than summer ether way.

But if you had an extra month in summer than people would have more time to do the work assigned to them to do over summer. also you can spend more time visiting people and getting to go to camp.

However, I think we should have an extra month of summer because we will have more rest and more vacation time. Also, we could have more time to read books and relax on the beach. In conclusion I think we should have on more month of summer vacation.

For example, we might be playing on ipads or watching tv instead of getting the education that our parents pay for. But if we did have an extra month then we could travel new places and learn there, or we could go to camp and meet new people.So, which one do you think would be your choice?
ReplyDeleteAlthough some people might think that we should learn more, sometimes I think that is bazzar. Some may argue that they should have more playtime on summer like me.
ReplyDeleteFor example, getting to go to the beach more. However other people that want to learn more will maybe just practice for that period of time to get ready for the year. I think we should all either play for that month or just work hard to get ready for the year.
