Would You Rather Part 7

Dear students,

For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:

  • topic sentence stating your opinion
  • At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
  • One counter argument
  • A concluding sentence summarizing your writing

Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:

Would you rather always have the same song stuck in your head or always have the same dream at night?

Please remember to check for mistakes by reading aloud your post to yourself before you publish it. I cannot wait to see what you write!

Your teacher,
Mrs. Braddy

Here is a proficient example:
If I had to choose between have the same song stuck in my head or the same dream every night, I would choose to have the same dream every night. First, at night you will be asleep, so it won't really bother you. Second, sometimes I forget my dream the day after I have it, so I will never forget my dream because I have it every night. Finally, if you had the same song stuck in your head it would probably annoy you. However, some people prefer having a song stuck in their head because you will never forget that song, you will have the whole song memorized, and you can sing yourself to sleep. I would rather have the same dream every night.

  1. If I had a choice to listen to the same song everyday or have the same dream every night I would rather listen to the same song everyday. I would rather listen to the same song everyday because I would not listen to music everyday. Also, because the song will become old. some may argue that having the same dream every night is better because the dream never ends but it could be a scary dream or a sad dream. they also might say that the dream could be the future. That's not TRUE!!!!! No dream can tell the future!. If I had the choice to listen to the same song every day or have the same dream every nigh I would rather listen to the same song every day because I could just not listen to music that day.

  2. If I had to choose to have the same dream every nighjt or always have the same song stuck in my head. I would choose to have the same dream every night over having the same song always in your head because the dream could be a dream I really love, and if it was a bad dream if I see it aklot it may become not scary. However, some may argue that having the same song stuck in you head always is better because it could be a song you really love. My answer though is to always have the same dream over having the same song always stuck in my head.

  3. I would want to always have the same song stuck in my head. I would know all the words to the song. I could get on peoples nerves by singing it non stop. Finally it is better than having the same dream every day. Some may like having the same dream everynight becaues they think it is a better thing, but having the same dream would be boring. I would want to have the same song stuck in my head.

  4. If I had the choice of having the same dream every night or having the same song stuck in my head, I would choose to have the same dream every night. First, you probably would forget your dream. Second, you can't really be annoyed while you sleep. Finally, having a song stuck in your head could bother you and distract you from doing things. However, some people think that having the same song stuck in your head would be better because you would know all of the words to the song. And you wouldn't forget the words. But I would rather have the same dream every night.

  5. If I had to choose between having the same song stuck in my head or the the same dream every night, I would have the same dream every night. First, at night you'll be asleep, so it won't bother you as it would in the day. Second, you have a dream every night, but you forget it. It wouldn't be bad if you forgot it. Lastly, if I had the same song stuck in my head I would get annoyed very fast. Although, some may argue that having the same son stuck in your head is better because it could be your favorite song. I would rather have the same dream every night!

  6. If I had to choose between having the same song always stuck in my head or always having the same dream at night, I would pick always having the same dream at night. I always end my dream when something good is about to happen, so I could see what happens. Also, I have had this happen to me before for three nights in a row and the dream never ends, so it would be like a story every night, but it never ends. Lastly, I always love dreaming it rarely happens to me but when it does on the weekend, I sleep in really late because I don't want the dream to end so I keep sleeping. However, some people think it would be better to have the same song stuck in your head because if it was a good song you would know the lyrics very well, and you could sing it fairly well. Though, I think it would be awesome to have the same dream every night.

  7. If I had to choose between the same song stuck in my head and the same dream every night I would probably have the same dream every night. First, because when you have a dream that means your sleeping pretty well. Second, I love to have funny dreams and share them with my friends. Also, if you have the same song stuck in your head you might get annoyed and in trouble. You could get in trouble by singing the song in class when the teachers talking. But some may want to have the same song because they might think it is fun to sing it all the time, but if I had a choice I would have the same dream every single night.

  8. If I had to choose to have the same song stuck in my head or have the same dream every night I would choose to have the same dream every night. First, if you have the same dream every night you could do whatever you want in that dream. If you had the same song stuck in your head you couldn't chance the lyrics or the song because it would be repeated all the time. I would also like to have the same dream every night because I could choose what dream I would want to have. With songs you would get bored and annoyed very quickly. You also wouldn't have to dream as much as you listen to songs because you only dream when you are sleeping. If you are always listening to your favorite song you would never sleep because the music would keep you awake. Those are the reasons that I would want to have the same dream every night than listening to the same song 24/7.

  9. If I was given the choice between having the same song stuck in my head or to have the same dream every night, I would choose to have the same song stuck in my head. I could make it be a song I liked, but I couldn't remember all the words to. Also, I could then pretty much play that song in my head along with all the other songs I have memorized. Finally, when I listen to music I could know every word to the song, so I would be able to sing along to it. However, some may choose to have the same dream every night because they wouldn't have to think about what dream they were going to have. I think though that having the same song stuck in my head would be better than having the same dream every night.

  10. If I had the choice between having the same song stuck in my head or have the same dream every night, I would choose to have the same dream every night. For example, I would be asleep, so I would probably forget my dream the morning after I had it. Second, if you had the same song stuck in your head, it would annoy you. And if you are like me, I sing the song stuck in my head out loud to be funny sometimes, so it would annoy other people as well as yourself. Last, my dream could be short, so I wouldn't dream much before good, hard sleep. However, some may argue that having the same song stuck in your head is better because you will memorize the song. But it could be a bad song, so memorizing it wouldn't do you much good. This is why I would choose dreaming the same dream every night over having the same song stuck in your head.

  11. I would rather have a song stuck in my head because I love to listen to music and my family is REALLY big on music. Some may argue that having the some dream would be better because it is SO annoying when your alarm goes if in the middle of a good dream, but what if you keep having a scary dream? I think it would be nice to have the same song stuck in my head because I like to listen to relaxing music. That is why I think it would be nice to have the sane song stuck in my head.

  12. I would rather have the same dream every night. I think music is terrible when it is stuck in your head. Especially if it's a song you don't like. But for me I don’t have dreams that often. I only have dreams when I can’t go to sleep. But some may argue that they they don't care about listening to the same song over and over again. These are the reasons I would rather have the same dream every night.

  13. would rather have the same song stuck in my head because you would get to listen to it. I would also have memorized it. If you wanted to think of a song, you would have that song. Some might say they would rather dream the same dream every night because they would forget it. Also it would not annoy that person, but you would not get to dream other dreams. Music is fun to listen to, in my opinion. That’s why I would rather have the same song stuck in my head.

  14. I think having the same dream every night is better than having the same song stuck in your head every day. First, if you have the same dream every night it won’t bother you because you are asleep. Also, if you have the same song stuck in your head it would annoy me a lot. Finally,
When I go to sleep I can’t remember anything that I dreamt of that night, so I wouldn’t care about it because I won’t remember. However, some may argue that having the same song stuck in your head everyday is better because you would always remember that song. This is why I chose having the same dream every night.

  15. I would rather have the same dream every night than have the same song stuck in my head because I forget my dreams A LOT. Altho some may argue that having the same thing stuck in their head is better because you will never forget that thing. In the end i think that having the same dream is better.

  16. If I had to choose between having the same song stuck in my head or always have the same dream, I would choose to have the same dream every night. I would choose this because if you had the same song always stuck in your head, even if you liked it at first you would probably get tired of it. Also, you might be able to have a dream that you like every night, and even if you thought the dream was scary you would get used to it so it wouldn't bother you. Finally, you won't ever forget your dream if you have it every night. However, some people might prefer to have the same song always stuck in their head because they could memorize the whole song. I would like having the same dream at night than having the same song always stuck in my head.

  17. If I had the same song stuck in my head forever, or having the same dream at night, I would chose having the same dream at night. I choose this because I never remember what I dream about in my sleep the next day, so it won't get old. another reason why I like this more is because I don't know what I dream about. My final reason why is because when you have a song in your head for a long time, it gets you annoyed and you start not liking it anymore. Some people may argue that having a song stuck in your head is better because the dream will start aggravating you. I disagree because I forget about dreams a lot, so I bet that I've had a dream twice in a row and didn't know. I think dreaming about the same thing every night is better than having the same song stuck in your head forever.

  18. If I had to choose between a song stuck in my head or a dream stuck in my head. I would choose to have a dream in my head because you can have a good dream of when you grow up.
However some may say I want the same song in my head because maybe they really like the song. I would choose a dream in my head.

  19. If I to choose between having the same song stuck in my head forever, or having the same dream at night. I would choose to have the same song inside my head. First, I may have a nightmare stuck in my head, and I don't want to have that as my dream every night. second, I may really like that song. However, Some people may like to have the same dream every night. It may be a really good dream, or they may really like that dream, Finally the song may have a really good tune. I prefer to have the same song in my head all of the time.

  20. If I had my favorite song stuck in my head or having the same dream at night, I would choose to have the same dream. First, I wouldn't have a headache. Second, you could tell someone what dream you had. Last, you would be asleep, so it wouldn't be annoying. However, some people think that it would be better to have the same song stuck in your head. For example, people say that it wouldn't be annoying because it is your favorite song. I disagree because it is not annoying because you are asleep. I would rather have to have the same dream every time I go to bed.

First, I would want to uninor people with my singing. Second, I always forget my dreams so it will feel normal. Finally, if you had the same song stuck in your head it would probably get old. However, some people would rather have a song stuck in their head because you will never forget that song, and you will know the whole song, but I would rather have the same dream every night.

  22. In my opinion I would want to have the same song stuck in my head then have the same dream. Because what if the dream is a nightmare I would not want to have a creepy dream every night. But if I was sitting there taking a test it would be distracting to have a song stuck in my head.but I still think I would rather have the same song in my head because it might be my favorite song.

  23. If Ihad to choose between having the same song stuck in your head or have the same dream every night I would choose to have the same song stuck in my head. I would choose this because I like to have a more mixed up sleeping schedule and it may be a bad dream. Also, sometimes it’s nice to have a song to sing or dance to. However, some may argue that having the same dream for the rest of your life is better because it may be a bad song to have in your head. I would rather have a song stuck in my head forever.

  24. if I were to choose to have the same song stuck in my head or if I could have the same dream every night. It would depend if the dream was good then I would want the same dream every night, but if the dream is bad then I would want for the song to be stuck in my head. If I had to choose between both then I would choose to have the same dream every night. Some may argue that having a song stuck in your head is better because you might really like the song. On the other hand the song might not be good, and your dream is better.

  26. If I had to choose between having the same song stuck in your head or having the same dream every night, I would choose the same dream every night. For example, if you have a nightmare every night eventually it would not be scary anymore. Second, it would be fun to share what your dream is to everyone and hear others too. If you heard other people sing a song that was stuck in their head it would become annoying. Next, it can get really annoying just to have a song stuck in your head for a day. Imagine having it for the rest of your life!! Especially if it was your favorite song it would probably become your least favorite song. Also, if I am asleep then some nights I might forget my dream and then I would not even know that I was having the same one. Some may argue that having the same dream every night could get boring, you would not want to have the dream any more, and then you could not tell your friends about more than one dream. But I think that having an annoying song is worse than having a boring dream. Plus, like I said you technically would not have it EVERY night because you would forget it some nights. I would much rather have the same dream every night than have the same song stuck in my head.

  27. I would rather have the same dream every night because well First, you only have to have the same dream at night if you chose a song you have to listen to it all day. Secondly, if its your favorite song and you have to listen every day it wont be your favorite anymore. Third of all, if your dream is a happy dream then you wont have to ever experiment a bad dream. Over all I think that a dream is way better.

  28. If I had to choose between having the same song stuck in my head all the time or to have the same dream every night then I would definitely choose to have the same dream every night. If you had the same song stuck in you head all the time it would start to get very annoying. Even if it was a song you loved, after two months it would start to get really old. If you had the same song stuck in your head forever ( that would be at least 70 years!) It would get so old to the point that I could mot think! If you had the same dream you might forget it. I always forget my dreams, unless I talk about them once I wake up. However, some people may think having the same song stuck in you head would be better because they may think about what if it was a nightmare? Or this song is so good it would never get old. I disagree. I would not be able to think if "Your Happy and You Know It" got stuck in my head. Or any other cheese song like that got stuck in my head. For those reasons I would chose to have the same dream every night.

  29. If I could chose to have the same song stuck in my head, or the same dream at night, I would chose to have the same dream at night. first It wouldn't annoy you as much as a song. second, I usually forget what my dream was when I wake up. Finialy, In my opinion having a song stuck in my head is more annoying than having a dream more than once. Although I think this, some may argue that having the same song stuck in your head is better than having the same dream at night. Because you will just get used to it. But it can get very annoying. This is why I think that having the same dream at night is better than having the same song stuck in my head.

  30. If I had the same song stuck in my head or had the same dream every night. I would choose having the same dream because then I could remember my dream, for I always forget parts of it. Another would be that I hate have a song stuck in my head because it always distracts me. And I like having dreams instead of no dreams. However some may argue that what if it was a nightmare, but I would get used to it. That's why I would pick the same dream.

  31. If had a choice between having the same dream every night or having the same song stuck in my head. I would choose to have my favorite song called Heartless by Kanye West every day of my life. Some a dream could be a nightmare, but a song can't be a nightmare because it's not visual. Plus a song can only wake you up if blasted it when you are a sleep but that's physically impossible. A dream can wake you up every night that you have one. That's pretty much why I would have a song over the same dream every time you sleep or listen to music. It's also has a good beat it's fun to dance along with the beat.

  32. If I had the choice between having the same song stuck in my head forever or have the same dream every night, I would rather have the same dream every night. But it would have to be a really good one that never got old but if you have a nightmare every night you would eventually get used to it because you have the same one every night. Also, after you wake up you will probably forget it happened until the next night comes, and that will just keep happening every day. Also, if you have the same dream every night some nights you could completely forget the dream you had the last night and forget you had the same dream in a row. Also, if the song that is stuck in your head forever is really bad rap with a lot of cusses in it it could be super miserable trying to get rid of that song, and it says you have that song stuck in your head forever it would be really terrible having a bad song with cusses stuck in your head. Also, if you have a song stuck in your head that you really really like and you just want to keep singing it over and over again and you don't have a great voice people could make fun of you and think you think your so good and bragging about your voice but you are really just trying to sing because you want to, it could backfire right at you but your not trying to be super cool. I have seen someone singing in the hall before and then I saw a group of people start trash talking right at his face and it made him really mad. I have also seen that happen but not just in that situation when a guy was singing in the hall then got trash talked it could happen anywhere you can imagine. It could also happen with a few people who are not very good friends or it could happen with a few people who are really good friends. Lastly, if you have the same song stuck in your head forever it will just get annoying day after day, and if you had it in your head at night it would be really hard for you to sleep. I have had "God's Plan" stuck in my head all night and I only got about 4-5 hours of sleep. However, some may argue that it would be fun to have the same song in your head but I think it would get more and more annoying as your life passes. I personally think having a song stuck in your head forever is like being in the Pit of Misery in the Bud Light commercial. Over all, I think having a song stuck in your head forever would be awful but I think having the same dream in your head every night of your life would be pretty cool!

  33. I would rather have the same dream stuck in my head because I would be dreaming when I go to sleep. The dream might be my favorite dream The song we be stuck in my head when I’m not even sleeping. Also I might get a headache. Having a song stuck in my head would keep me up all night. The song could be inappropriate for me. Some may say they would have the same song stuck in their head because dream might be scary or gross. The song could be their favorite song. The dream could be inappropriate for them.

  34. I would rather have the same dream every night rather than always have the same dream stuck in my head . First of all, if your dream was cool, good, and you liked it. It might be cool to have it over and over again. Secondly, you can see action in your dreams that could be interesting. Unlike listening to songs, you can see in dreams including hearing things. If you always have the same song stuck in your head you might stop liking that song, but you still just think about it over and over again. Also, if the song is stuck in your head you might start singing and humming the song. If you sing or hum the songs during class or somewhere like that, you could get in trouble and you could be very annoying to others. For some reason people could think you don’t have too good of a voice and could possibly laugh at you. If you have the song stuck in your head and your a little bit shy, you might sing out loud a little bit and that could embarrass you. Lastly, people might think you are a little weird because you still hum, sing, or even talk about the old song that is stuck in your head. Some people could think that having the same song stuck in your head is better than having the same dream every night. For example, having the same song stuck in your head is better because if you do have good voice, people could admire that. Some people could think that you have really good talent. Futhermore, the song could have complicated lyrics, but somehow you are still able to sing them in a good way. Lastly, if you really like the song’s rythm, style, and lyrics you could get used to thinking of it a lot. Also, if you have the same dream every night, the dream could be scary to where you don’t like the dream. Though, there are some good things about having the same dream instead of having the same song stuck in your head. First, the dream might be long and you could be on a journey. If your dream was really fun and interesting, you might want to be engage in dream every night. Since you have the same dream every night you can almost figure out more about the interesting dream. Secondly, was almost like a real life situation that you overcom in your dream. If, for some reason, you come across that situation in real life you might be able to overcome it. I think if you had the same dream every night you could remember the things that you had in your dream, you can think of those things in real life. With those ideas you can come up with other ideas in real life and create fun things life. For example, if your dream was about building structures, in real life you can think about yout toys and maybe build a really cool structure.

  35. If I had to choose between having the same song stuck in my head for the rest of my life or having the same dream every night for the rest of my life. I would choose having the same dream every night for the rest of my life. First, I usually don't remember my dreams from the night before. Second, I like dreams because it is like your a part of it and in all the action. Third, It feels good being lost in a dream in your comfortable bed all night long. Fourth, if it is a good dream it will never get old, and your will never get out of bed when your supposed to. Fifth, if I wanted to I could stay asleep all day watching that dream go by. Sixth, having a song stuck in your head is like fighting in a war without Bud Knight and Weapons. Seventh, a song stuck in your head always disracks me during test and a lot more.

However, some may argue that having a good song stuck in your head for the rest of your life is way better than having the same dream every night for the rest of you life. But if you sing a song that is stuck in your head during class you could get in trouble. It is obviously better having the same dream for the rest of your life than having the same song stuck in your head for the rest of your life. That is way I chose having the same dream every night for the rest of my life.
