Dear students,
For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:
- A topic sentence stating your opinion
- At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
- One counter argument
- A concluding sentence summarizing your writing
Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:
Would you rather have the ability to see 10 years into your own future or one year into the future of the world?
Please remember to check for mistakes by reading aloud your post to yourself before you publish it. I cannot wait to see what you write!

P.S.-Here is my example:
If I had the choice to have a 3-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a 3-day weekend every week. If I had a 3-day weekend instead of 2 days, I would get a lot more done! In addition, I would not have to work as much, and I could spend more time working out, shopping, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with my friends. Plus, I would not feel so rushed on my weekends. I could even go out of town for long weekends and visit family and friends! However, some may prefer an extra month of summer vacation because they could take longer trips. I think the benefits of longer weekends outweigh the benefits of an extra month of summer. I prefer having a 3-day weekend rather than having another month of summer vacation.
if I had a choice to see into my own future 10 years or see into the future one year. I would want to be able to see into the future one year because you could see what happened in that one year. If I chose 10 years I wouldn't be able to see what happened in those 9 years. also because I could see if one of my favorite teams won. I would rather see into the future one year because I could see what happened to everything not just my self.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice of seeing 10 years into my future, or the ability to see 1 year in the worlds future, I would choose the ability to see 10 years into my future. I chose this because I would like to see my future more, and it is a longer time. some people might disagree, and say that seeing a year of the worlds future is better because you can learn about everything. I disagree because you will know about the most important events in the world to you for a longer time. I think seeing 10 years of my future is better.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choice to see 10 years in my future or 1 year into the future, I would choose 10 years into my future because I could see if I would go to Alabama and if I would get my drivers license. I also would want to see if I made the Alabama basketball team.
ReplyDeleteI would rather see my own future in 10 years. I would love to see what I would look like in 10 years, and what I would have as a job. It would be really cool to see my own life. I could see where I will go to school and stuff like that. However, some may argue that seeing into the world's future is better because you could see what objects have come out now. I think I would like seeing into my own future. I would love seeing my own future!

I would choose to see ten years into my future because I could see if I was stuck in the future of the world. Also I could see what happens to me. Furthermore, some may argue that seeing into one year into the world's future because you could become famous predicting what would happen in the future. Although, you could see what you will do in the future. I think the benefits of seeing ten years into your future outwits seeing one year into the world's future. I would like to see into my future more.

I would choose to see 10 years into my future because I could see the whole world and what would happen to me. I also could see if I had the same friends and the same lifestyle. I could also see if I wanted to change anything about my life. I would be interested to know what I would have as a job. I would try to be an athlete. Although some people may like to see 1 year into the future of the world because they could check on the whole world and they didn't want to see to much. I prefer to look 10 years into the future.

It would be more interesting to see what the future is around the world, and I would want to see the future of everything. Even if it was for one year. However,some may say that seeing their own future would be better so they could see if they got hurt in the future or something. But you could also see if something bad was going to happen to the world. Furthermore,I would want to see what was going to happen, like what people would do in the future. I would want to see the future of the world more than just the future of myself

I would like to see because I could see what I needed to work on for my future. I would see what happens to me. Also, It is a longer way to see into. I think seeing 10 years into the future is better.

I would choose this because if anything happened wrong in the world and I knew how to fix it, I could before it happened. Also, if I looked into my own future, I wouldn't know how things happened to me. Finally, I could see everything that happened, not just what happened to me. However, some people might prefer to look 10 years into their future because they could see what happened to them. I think that looking 1 year into the world's future would be much better than looking 10 years into your own future.
ReplyDeleteI would see 10 years to my future. 10 years is longer than 1 year. Also I want to know what hapened to me. If i made a mistake i would know how to fix it. You might want to see 1 year to the worlds future because you could see what happend to your freinds, but you could only see 1 year. I would want to see 10 years in my future.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choice of seeing 10 years into my own future or see 1 year into the world's future, I would choose to see 1 year into the world's future. For example, I wouldn't understand a lot of stuff in my future because that is happening in the world, not my own future. Also, I like surprises, so when I actually lived my life, all of the cool, unexpected stuff would be boring. Last, I like to know about everything, not just me. Some may argue that 10 years into their own future is better because you would know what to do and what not to do. But it would be a better learning experience if you make mistakes. This is why 1 year of seeing into the world's future is better.

ReplyDeleteI would rather see 10 years into my future because I would be able to see all the things that would happen in the next 10 years. Also, I would be able to see if I break a bone or if anything happens. Finally, I will see if I won my sports games or if I get hurt in the next 10 years. However, some may argue that seeing 1 year into the whole world’s future because you get to see what happens all over the world. For example, If an earthquake happens in Australia you will know. This is why I chose to see 10 years into my own future.
I would rather see 10 years into my own future because I want to see if I made it to the NHL or not. Maybe I am playing in Europe for all I know! If the other option was to see 100 years into the future of the world, I would choose that. But, I think I chose the better option.

ReplyDeleteI would want to see my future in 1 year because I want to be surprised when I am around 20 years old. For example what college would I go to Vanderbilt or Ferman? I have know idea and that is the way I like it. So In one year that is what I would want to see.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose between seeing 10 years into your own future or 1 year into the world's future, I would choose 1 year into my future. First, It is not as fun as a life if you always know what is going to happen. Also,It would be cool to see what the technology is like in the future.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choice of looking 10 years into my future or looking 1 year to see what is going to happen in that year I would choose to look 10 years into my own future because you can see if you hurt yourself or what you do in your life and what job you get. However, some may argue it would be better to see what is happening in the real world and look at everyone not just yourself. Over all, I would want to look 10 years into my own future.
