For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:
- A topic sentence stating your opinion
- At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
- One counter argument
- A concluding sentence summarizing your writing
Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:
Would you rather have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation?

If I had the choice to have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a three-day weekend every week. If I had a three-day weekend instead of two days, I would get a lot more done! In addition, I would not have to work as much, and I could spend more time working out, shopping, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with my friends. Plus, I would not feel so rushed on my weekends. I could even go out of town for long weekends and visit family and friends! However, some may prefer an extra month of summer vacation because they could take longer trips. I think the benefits of longer weekends outweigh the benefits of an extra month of summer. I prefer having a three-day weekend rather than having another month of summer vacation.
I would prefer a three day weekend over an extra month of summer vacation. Three days every week would add up to be more days of than one month. However, some may argue that an extra month of summer vacation is better because you would get to spend time in the nice weather. Although, I would prefer a three day weekend over an extra month of summer.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice I would choose the three day weekend. Because I would go to school but also you would get to have more time to go on trips but not one month ones. Some people might want one month of summer vacation so they could visit family and friends for a long time. And maybe they don’t like school. But I think school is fun that is why I am choosing the three day weekend.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice between a three-day weekend or a extra month of summer vacation, I would choose to have an extra month of summer vacation. I could have more sleepovers and more free time. You would have a regular school year, but you would get extra summer vacation. I could play more sports, I could have a longer time to do summer reading, and I could balance out my summer between camps and vacations equally. I could enjoy the outdoors more because I wouldn't be sitting at my desk on nice days. However, some people prefer to have a long weekend because they could do more on the weekends. I think that having an extra month of summer is a much better option. I will always pick to have an extra month of summer.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have a three day weekend because Mondays can be stressful. For example, you could have three sleepovers in a row. I also wouldn't feel as rushed on the weekend to get all my homework done. You could hang out with your friends more and stay up later on Sunday. You also could go on short trips that weekend. I know when we ever get Monday off my family usually goes on a short trip to visit family. However, some may argue that one more month of summer vacation is better because you can relax more. I think that longer weekends are better than one more month of summer. Iprefer having longer weekends than one more month of summer.

I would choose to have a three-day weekend because three day weekends would add up to more than a extra month of summer.Plus I could have sleepovers on Sundays because I would not have school on Monday. You could stay up late Friday night,Saturday night, and even Sunday night. Although, some may argue that having an extra month of summer because you could have less months of school, and and more vacations/time off of school. I think three-day weekends sum up more than an extra month of summer. I'd rather have a three-day weekend every weekend than an extra month of summer.

I like this idea more because if it is my Birthday and I want to go to Disney World, I would have the time to go to Disney World unlike a two day weekend. some people may argue though that an extra month of summer is better because they could go swimming and have more vacations. I think a three day weekend is better because you can not do summer activities like going to the pool, but you can do the same activities in that extra day of the weekend. I think a three day weekend is better.

I think that a three-day weekend every week tops an extra month of summer by far.

If I had a three-day weekend every week, I would have one day do nothing and relax. Also, having a three-day weekend every week is more days of then just one extra week of summer vacation. Also, you would have more time to do your homework if you have things to do on the weekend. However, some might say that having a extra month of summer vacation would be better because they wouldn't have to think about homework or projects that are due the next day. But I think having a three-day weekend would be better. I prefer having a three-day weekend instead of an extra month of summer vacation.
ReplyDeleteIf had the choice to have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a three-day weekend because I could play with my friends, I cuould play more x box, and I could play outside. I could also see my grandmother more often. although, some may say that they would have an extra month of summer becuase you would get less school. but I think that having a three-day weekend is better because there are 37 weeks of school in a school year, so 37 x 3 is 111. 111 less days of school of school is more than 31 less days of school. I would rather have a three day weekend than a extra month of summer vacation.
ReplyDeleteI would have a 3 day weekend. You could have more time to relax. Mondays are alway hard to get up early,but you wouldn't have to get up. You could go on a short vacation.You may like an extra moth of summer vacation because you could go on longer vacation,but one extra day off each week all school year is longer off school. I would want a 3 day weekend more than an extra month on summer vacation.

I would be able to do much more done over the weekend so I wouldn’t be rushed at all. Also, I would be able to stay up late on Sunday because I won’t have to go to school on Monday. Finally, I could do whatever I want on Monday because I won’t have school. However, some may argue having one more month of summer is better because you get to relax for an extra month. In my opinion having a three day weekend every week is better than having an extra month of summer.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choice to have a three-day weekend every week or an extra month of summer vacation, I would choose to have a three-day weekend every week. First, if I was about to hit a milestone in Fortnite, etc., I would have a full day to complete it, instead of having to break it up into small windows of time until summer. Also, I would get more sleep so I would be refreshed for the school week ahead. Last, I would have another full, 24 hour day to complete homework. However, some may argue that another month of summer is better because you can have another month to swim and do summer recreations, and not just let go of them as quickly as they came. But you can do those same things on your long weekend. This is why a three-day weekend is better than an extra month of summer vacation.

I would like this because I would not feel as rushed to do things on the weekend. Also, if I wanted to, I could go on vacation during these long weekends. Finally, I would be able to have more time to do the things I like on the weekends such as walking, playing outside, and reading. However, some people might prefer an extra month of summer because they would be able to not have the time spread out and they could go on longer vacations. I think that having three-day weekends would be better than having an extra month of summer because you could go on vacations, you could have more time to do the things you want to, and you would not feel rushed.

I would be able to go to the beach and hang out for a while at the beach in the warm weather. Staying home for three days is so boring, I already do that every weekend. I would rather go to the beach.

Example, I don't like to play more than 4 sports because there are to many games and practices. I like to be organized and on task. But some people like to go on trips. These are the 3 reasons why I would rather have a 3 day weekend.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose between a three day weekend or one more month for the summer I would choose one more month for the summer. I would choose it because then we would have more time for vacations, more time of no school, and more time at the pool. So may say that having a three day weekend is better because you get one more day off of the week. But when you add one more day to the weekend it will eventually seem just as short as before.
ReplyDeleteI would choose an extra month of summer because that means less school time. If you had less school and more summer than today, you could have more time to relax and vacation. That is the option I would choose.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose I would rather have a three day week end over another month of school because everything would be much more balanced. You would also probably get much more rest and would like school a lot more. Also you would have more time to do stuff around the house that have been needed to be done or even go on a short vacation. It would be much better to have a three day weekend.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have an extra month of summer. First of all you can't go on long vacations. Second, you would be out of school longer. Third of all, you could have more time to spend with your friends. Over all I think having a longer summer is better.

I like this idea more because you only have to have four days of school then have the three day weekend and keep on going for the whole year. Also, I did the math and you would have way more time off of school if you choose the three day weekend. I chose three day weekend because of all these reasons.
