The second poem, The Falling Star, is about a boy who spots a shooting star falling in the sky and explains that it is priceless, memorable, and to be forever gone out of his life.
I think that the winner is the poem, The Falling Star. I chose this poem because it has great imagery, like when the woman stated,"Blinding the north as it went by". Another reason I chose this poem is the author uses the rhyme scheme: AA BB CC. This makes the poem fun to read and gives it a rhythm.
The Eagle is about how an eagle flies and how elegant it is when he does so. I think the eagle has great imagery and is very descriptive.

I pick Casey at the bat because it is really funny and it makes sense. It reminds me of one of my friends. It also has amazing imagery.

I chose The Eagle because it has a rhyme scheme of AAABAA. It also has alliteration like lonely lands.
The first poem, Casey at the bat, is about a baseball team that is down by two runs with a runner on first and second. Casey is at bat with two outs. He is a showoff, and lets the first two pitches go by. Then he strikes out, and lets everybody down.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, The Eagle, is about a eagle who is on a mountain above the ocean, and wants to go to the ocean. The eagle gets hit by lightning, and falls off of the cliff.
I choose Casey at the bat, because it is a good story, and it is about a player that thinks he can save the day with one hit. But he strikes out, and lets everybody down. This poem teaches that you should not think that your better than you are, and don't brag to others.
The Eagle is about an eagle who is soaring close to the sun with his crooked hands. He watches from his mountain walls. I think that the rhyme scheme is AAA BBB.

I think that the winner of the poem should be The Eagle because it reminds me of America being free and it also reminds me of my great-grandfather and also my uncle, Kyle.
The Eagle is about an Eagle that flies high and is free. I liked this one because it reminded me of America and how we are free. He also flies a lot of places.
ReplyDeleteCasey at Bat is about a not so good team but have a special weapon......... Casey. In the game a miracle happens two players hit a ball and are safe. Then Casey tries to show off and miss 2 times. Then on his last try he misses. The other team wins. The whole team and city is in shock. I did not like how long it was.
I pick The Eagle because it symbols America and tells you that you are free. I also like how it inspires me.
The first poem, Casey at Bat, is about a baseball game and this man named Casey. The fans seem to love Casey who is tough and mighty. They cheer and applaud him as he steps up to bat. The pitcher starts to sweat, and seems scared of Casey.

The poem I chose to win is, Casey at Bat, I really like this poem because I like the details and the emotions. Another reason I chose this poem is because of the rhyme scheme: AA BB

I think Casey At Bat is better because the rhyme scheme is aaaa. It is very long and the man who wrote it it looks like he took a ton of time on it.

I think Casey at the Bat is the winner because of the funny story about this hero who finally fails another reason I think it should win because of its' rhyme scheme (AA BB). This makes it have great rhythm.
The Eagle is about an eagle stalking its prey. It is also about flying. I think this eagle is very fierce because the poem uses very fierce words.
ReplyDeleteCasey at the Bat is about a very tough looking guy who is adored by fans, and plays baseball. But he is not very good at it. The team is down by one point and it is the last inning. Casey gets two outs on purpose, and misses the third hit so they lose. I think that if I were in Casey's shoes I would not purposely miss two hits.
I think that Casey at the Bat should win because it is more like a story. Another reason I think that it should win is because of the rime scheme, it is always A A B B. Another reason is that casey thinks he is very good at baseball, but he is not.
The Eagle, is about a eagle getting ready to hunt down some fish. He was lonely on some land looking over the ocean watching for fish then, he falls of the mountain into the ocean to catch a fish.

And Casey is up, he watches the first ball go right by his face and doesn't like it, STRIKE 1! He watches the second one go right by him and doesn't even try, STRIKE 2! On the the third ball he winds up and swing, STRIKE 3! Casey mist!
I chose, Casey At The Bat, because I like baseball and and just because he looks like the best player he got cocky and messed up the game for the team.

They at least had 1 shot. Their next batter then happened to hit another single. The crowd went wild!!! Next up... Casey at bat. The crowd is cheering for him, but then 2 strikes, then 3, then he is out.
I chose The Eagle, because it was more meaningful to me showing it's moves and symbols. The rhyme scheme is AAABAA, and I prefer poems with a meaning over a baseball story.

My favorite poem out of Casey at the Bat and The Eagle was Casey at the Bat. I liked Casey at the Bat because Casey waits for the best ball, but it never comes so he strikes out. I realized in this poem there is a rhyme scheme,(AA), "It looked extremely rocky for a Mudville nine that day; The score stood two to four, with but one inning left to play."

I would definitely take the first one cause he is dreaming about the best life ever. The second one is kind of boring.
