Here is an example of proficient writing:
The first poem, Roger The Dog, is about a dog who is very lazy and won't get up. He uses all of his strength to eat food, so this dog is not the healthy type.
The second poem, The Falling Star, is about a boy who spots a shooting star falling through the sky and explains that it is priceless, memorable, and to be forever gone out of his life.
I think that the winner is the poem, The Falling Star. The reason I chose this poem is because it has great imagery, like when the woman stated,"Blinding the north as it went by". Another reason I chose this poem is the author uses the rhyme scheme: AA BB CC. This makes the poem fun to read and gives it a rhythm.
The meaning of the first poem, Casey at the Bat, is about a baseball team which is losing to the other team. Casey comes up to bat, the crowd is putting intense pressure on him. He waits until the last pitch, and then all his glory is gone when he strikes out.
ReplyDeleteThe Eagle is about an Eagle who is looking over all the land, and when the sun rises, he falls as the King and his rule is over.
I liked The Eagle the best because it was short, and had imagery. For Example: When the author said "The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls." It also had a rhyme scheme: AAA BBB.
The first poem,The Eagle,is about an eagle and how he stands on a rock waiting for some pray and then he strikes like a thunder bolt.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem,Casey at the Bat,is about a baseball team and how a boy named Casey is a great hitter and the fans want him up so they can win the baseball game. Then he strikes out where as you would expect him to hit a home run.
In my opinion I choose,The Eagle, because it had a great simile where it said,"And like a thunderbolt he falls. Also, there was a pattern in the poem that went AAA BBB.The poem really made me feel like I was actually watching the eagle swoop down and eat the prey.It described the eagle very well down to the last detail. That is why I chose,The Eagle,a the winner.
The first poem,The Eagle, is about the way the eagle lives his life on mountain sides and watching everything from above. The second poem, Casey At The Bat, was about a really good baseball player and according to the umpire was struck out. In my opinion I think the poem The Eagle was the best because of the imagery. For example, I can see an eagle flying around inside a canyon when he says ," He watches from his mountain walls." I can also see a nest up high in a tree with eggs in it when he says,"The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls."
ReplyDeleteThe Eagle about a eagle how soar through the sky and has a nest on the side of mountain and, when he has spotted his pray he comes down like lighting. ReplyDeleteThe second poem, Casey at Bat, is about a team that has two outs with a man on third and a man on second so they sent him up to bat but he kept on getting strikes so the fans started to yell then he struck out.
I vote for The Eagle because it had a good rhyme scheme: ABACCC. Also I liked the metaphor about how the eagle could dive as fast as a thunderbolt. And lastly the Imagery was really good I could actually see an eagle on a mountain swooping down like a thunderbolt. GO THE EAGLE!!!!!
Hey, the fist poem is The Eagle, The Eagle is about a eagle that is sitting on a rock with crooked hands, and he is close to the sun with his lonely hands. Also, their telling how he is a thunderbolt as he falls.
ReplyDeleteThe next poem is Casey at the Bat. It is about a boy named Casey playing a baseball game is Mudville and he has the last at bat. The fans are screaming and shouting at the empire that's not two strikes at bat. This poem is a really long poem.
I think the winner is this battle is Casey at the Bat because it is a rhyming poem and it is long. Also, in every paragraph and what happend. The rhyme scheme is AABB. I love this poem because it gave all the details and what happend. The winner in this battle is Casey at the Bat.
The first poem, Casey At Bat, is about a baseball game. And It's all up top Casey to hit the baseball. He's up at bat. Also there is a player on third and one on second. He let's the first two balls go bye. And the last one she swung but missed.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, The Eagle, is about, a eagle that is waiting on a tall mountain. Just waiting for a prey. Then in a in a split second he dives.

The poem I chose was ,The Eagle,I it chose it because it was a good imagary poem. For example l when he said he clasp his claws into the crag with his crooked hands I could see him putting his claws in the rock.I like howTennyson uses the metaphor and like a thunderbolt he falls. Also the author uses rhyme scheme AAA BBB.
The first poem,The Eagle, is about a eagle who flies from spot to spot. But it is like he is the king of birds. It says when he is flying in front of the sun he shines.

ReplyDeleteThe first poem, The Eagle, is about an eagle who is by itself and has just landed on a mountain.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, Casey at the Bat, is about a boy named Casey. He plays baseball for Mudville, and is their best player. When Casey steps up to bat, and the pitcher throws, he dosen't swing because it wasn't his style. The crowd gets mad because the umpire calls a strike. On the third pitch, he swings, but misses. Then he thinks, somewhere something happy is going on, but not for Casey because he has struck out.
I think the winner is,Casey at the Bat. The reason I chose this poem is because the author uses great imagery like when he says," Like the beating of storm waves on a the stern and distant shore."
