This poem also uses better writers craft, it teaches you to not be to crazy about choosing a perfect pair of shoes when they aren't the only ones you will ever get.

My winner for the final four is Mother To Son! I think it has a better meaning because the mother is talking to her son about how life isn't always easy. She tells him that life isn't always a crystal stair. This made me realize that I know now that life can be hard and it is sometimes hard.

Another connection with Mother to Son is that I know that sometimes life can be hard. And sometimes it isn't easy, but you have to keep pushing through life with a smile on your face.

I think Life Doesn't Frighten Me has a more important meaning because It's about being brave and having courage. It's also about knowing even though it seems that there are monsters and shadows awaiting for your fear, God is always there to comfort you. I can make a connection to this poem when I'm scared, and then remind myself that the Lord is always watching and there to make me feel better when I'm sad or scared. I like the rhyme scheme A,A,A,B,B,A, The alliteration, "Mean Old Mother Goose," and the repetition, "Life Doesn't Frighten Me At All."

ReplyDeleteI can make many connections because my Mom tells me to never give up with examples of her hard times too. One time was when she had one of her surgeries, and then a follow up appointment, she had said she was going to skip. She knew it was important, but also knew that it meant planning another surgery. She ended up going to the appointment, and learned new things like a sleeve during sports.
There is also writer's craft in the poem, for example, repetition - "Life for me ain't been no crystal stair" and a alliteration - "Boy don't go back" All these reasons make Mother To Son a better winner for me.
