Would You Rather Part 11

Dear students,

For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:

  • topic sentence stating your opinion
  • At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
  • One counter argument
  • A concluding sentence summarizing your writing

Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:

Would you rather always have to enter a room backward or always have to somersault out?

Please remember to check for mistakes by reading aloud your post to yourself before you publish it. I cannot wait to see what you write!

Your teacher,
Mrs. Braddy

  1. I would rather walk backwards into a room than always have to do somersault out of a room. first, walking backwards into a room is really easy. Second, doing a somersault out of a room does not hurt. However, some may argue that doing a somersault out of a room may be better because if there was legos at the doorway to your room, you might step into them. But overall, I would choose walking into your room backwards'

  2. I would rather enter a room backwards rather than exit a room by somersaulting. First,it is easier to enter a room backwards because if you somersault out, then you might hit something.Second, it is fun because you may have a surprise waiting for you behind you. Finally, it is weird to enter a room backwards so that is why I would want to do it. However, some may think that it is better to somersault out of a room because it looks funny. But I would rather have to walk in backwards.

  3. I think that I would rather walk backwards into a room rather than somersault out. First, I wouldn't get hurt going into the room. Second, walking backwards into a room isn't as bad as somersaulting out of a room. Finally, If there are toys strewn around the room, you can look behind you and see if there aren't any toys. However, somersaulting out of room is fun to do. and I love somersaulting. Those are my reasons why I would rather walk backwards into a room.

  4. If I had to choose between always having to enter a room or always having to somersault out, I would choose always having to enter a room backwards. First, If I always somersaulted out of the room, I would probably hurt myself because what if stairs were connected to the room. Second, If I entered the room backwards I could turn forward as soon as I walk in. Finally, entering a room backwards is a lot more safer than somersaulting out. Some people may argue and say that always having to somersault out would be cool.

  5. If I either had to somersault out of every room or walk backwards in to every room, I would choose to walk backwards in to every room. First, if you did a somersault out of every room you couldn't stop, and you might hit something or roll down the stairs. Second, right when you walk in you can turn around, but if you do a somersault you would have speed and not be able to stop. Finally, you would get really dizzy if you always do somersaults. But some people might like somersaults better. This is why I choose to always walk backwards into rooms.

  6. If I had to choose between entering a room backward, or entering exiting a room in a somersault. I would rather enter a always enter a room backward. First of all, what if you had to somersault into a room that you were supposed to sneak in because there were mousetraps or something. Second of all, you can look behind you when you enter a room backward but if you run into something with a somersault that would not be good. Last of all, walking backwards into a room isn't as weird as somersaulting into a room. But some may say that somersaulting into a room would be awesome. And those are the reasons why I would walk into a room backwards.

  7. I would rather walk backwards in every room. Here are my reasons. First, you can be cool by always walking backwards. Second, if you did a summersault it would be disrespectful. Last, if you walk backwards you can always look behined you.

  8. I would rather always enter the room backwards always. First, walking backwards is way easier than somersaulting out of the room. Second, if you walk backwards you could just turn your head forwards and not your body to see. Third, If you somersault you could hit something or roll down the stairs. Some people say that turning your head around to see will hurt your neck but you only do it while entering a room. That's why I would rather enter a room backwards.

  9. If I had to choose between everytime I enter a room I do it backwards or every time I exit the room I would somersault, would choose to somersault when I exit. One is because it kinda makes me feel like a ninja or a bird. Two, is because I think it would be so much fun being dizzy all the time. Finally, I think it would be so much fun to somersault in every room and not break anything. However, some may argue that walking backwards in to every room is better but to me that really seems dull and not exciting. So that is why I think somersaulting into every room you exit is better.

  10. I would rather somersault out of the room because I like gymnastics, and I like somersaulting. Plus it's cool to somersault, and fun. It also is like a way to say goodbye. However some may argue that always having to enter a room backward is better because if you somersault out, and you have back problems it would be a lot of pain. But I disagree because if you always heve to enter a room backward you could run into a lot of people, so I would prefer not running into people. So I would choose somersaulting out of the room.

  11. If I had to choose between walking Into a room backward or somersault out of a room, I would choose to somersault out of a room. Here are my reasons why. First it would be cool to somersault out of a room. Second you would look like a ninja. Lastly you would be really good at it,so you could show your friends. However some may argue that they would rather walk backward into a room because they would look cool doing it.Those are my reasons why I would rather somersault out of a room.

  12. If I either had to walk into a room backwards or somersault out, I would rather somersault out. First, somersaults are very fun and you can have fun doing it. Second, somersaults a fun and exciting! Third, if you do somersaults than people will think that you are a fun and healthy. Forth, you can make people laugh and brighten their day by seeing such a silly thing. Fifth, somersaults are very fun and a little bit of a exercise, so you could get a little workout every time you leave a room. Although some may argue that walking out of a room backward would be better, but I disagree. Walking backwards is boring it is just like walking! If you did a somersault, that would not be boring. If you walk backwards that would be boring! That is why I would rather do a somersault every time I leave a room instead of walking backwards every time I leave a roome.

  13. If I had to choose between always have to enter a room backward or always have to somersault out. I would choose always have to somersault out. First you look cool when you somersault out of a room. Second you can try different things like somersault onto a trampoline and fly onto a slip and slide. Third of all you can have a contest to see how can somersault the farthest. some people say that somersault out is dangerous but walking backwards can be very dangerous it could even be more dangerous than somersault out. those are my reasons you should somersault out

  14. I would rather enter a room backwards then exit a room doing a somersault. First, it is easy to do. Second, a somersault hurts on wood or a carpet. Some may argue that exiting a room doing a somersault is better butt it hurts more then walking backwards.

  15. If I could choose between walking backwards into a room or somersaulting into a room I would choose walking backwards into a room. first I could just moonwalk in and look like a boss. Second if there are any stairs I could just flop down them. Third it's awesome because it is. BOOM!!!!!!!

  16. If i had a choice to always walk backward in or always do a somersault out,I would choose to always walk into the room backwards. First, If I always did a somersault out I might hit the ground hard depending on the floor. Second, If I walked backwards I could have a goal to not try to bump into anything. Some may say that doing a somersault out of the room is better, but I prefer walking in backwards.

  17. I would rather go into a room backwards because it wouldn't be so hard to get into a room backwards. However, some people might want to enter a room doing a summersault because they might have trouble going backwards into a room.Overall,I think that going into a room backwards is better.

  18. I would walk in a room backwards all the time. First, you could be fancy. Second, you can not hurt your head. Third, it would be rude to somersault. However, somersaulting could be fun because you could be loud, but I prefer always walking backwards.

  19. If I either had to walk into a room backwards or somersault out, I would choose to always somersault out. First, somersaults are very fun and fun to do. Second, somersaults are a great way to get exercise. Third, If you do somersaults people will think you are awesome and fun. Fourth, you can make people happy by doing them. Although some argue that walking in a room backwards is better because you don't have to do much and it's easy. But sometimes if you walk into a room backwards you can bump into someone or something, and that would really hurt. But I still think that somersaulting out of a room is better than walking in backwards.

  20. If I had to choose between entering a room backward or somersaulting out of a room, I would choose to walk into a room backward. First, I would get dizzy if I somersaulted out of a room. Second, if you walk into a room backward you never know who is in the room until you turn around. Finally, you can make a dramatic entrance when you turn around. However, some people prefer to somersault out of a room because if you walk backward you could bump into something, if you somersault you can show off your gymnastics skills, and somersaulting makes you look cool. I think somersaulting would hurt your back. I would rather walk backward into a room.

  21. If I had to choose bettween walking backwards in the room or somersaulting out of a room I would pick somersaulting out of a room. First, I can see where im going. Second, I want run into anything. Third, It is very fun to somersault. However some may aruge that walking out of a room backwards is better because you can run into things. That is why I choose somersaulting out of a room.

  22. If I either had to always walk into a room backwards or keep doing a somersault until you exit a room I would rather walk backwards into a room. First, doing a somersault would make me dizzy and I would probably barf.Second, walking backwards into a room would be cool because you could moonwalk ohhh yeah. Finally, I think it would be better because it would look cooler than doing a somersault. However, Some may argue that doing a somersault is better because you would be able to see where you are going ,but if you were walking you could just turn your head and boom you can see. That is why I think that is better.

  23. If I either had to enter a room backwards or do a somersault out, I would choose doing a somersault out, three reasons why. First, I would want to see who is in the room before I walk in. Second, It would be cool to do a somersault out of a room. Finally, If you walk backwards into a room you are most likely to run into someone, Although it would hurt to do a somersault every time you exited a room, I would still go with doing a somersault out of a room.

  24. If I got to choose between always entering my room backwards or having to leave my room somersaulting. I would choose leaving my room somersaulting. For example, if I went in backwards I might run into something and trip. Like a my toys or somebody else. Second, I wouldn't have to walk out of my room and use any energy. I could go on the floor and roll. Third, if my friends and I wanted to do a race inside the room. If I had to go in backwards, I would always trip and fall or just never win. However, other people may say that going out somersaulting would hurt my neck. But, I don't care. That is why I chose to always leave my room somersaulting rather than coming in backwards.

  25. I would rather walk in a room backwards than to somersault out of a room. First, you can make it a dramatic entrance to interest people. Second, if you like gymnastics you can do a backbend to get out of it. Finally, if you are not flexible it will not be so hard. However some people might want to do a somersault because they like gymnastics. That is why I chose a walking backwards.

  26. If I always had to walk into a room backwards or always have to somersault out of a room, I would always walk into a room backwards. First, it would always be a surprise to see who was in the room. Second, I could see behind me. Finally, I would learn to navigate myself. However, some people might rather have to always somersault out of a room. Their reasons might be if might be fun, I probably will get hurt walking backwards, and I could walk into a room normally. Some people might like that, but I would still rather always walk into a room backwards. Those are my reasons for always walking into a room backwards.

  27. If I had the choice of walking backwards into a room or somersaulting into a room, I would choose going backwards into a room. My first reason is I don't know bow to summer salt. My second reason is that somersaulting is a lot more dangerous. You can break your neck if you don't do it the right way. My third reason is that when you got to be old it would look really weird summer salting into a room. However some may argue that they would rather somersault because they do gymnastics. But I don't so I'm going with walking backwards.

  28. If I had to choose between having to always enter a room backwards or have to exit a room with a somersault, I would choose to always enter a room backwards. Here are my reasons why. First, if you entered a room backwards once you enter you could turn around really fast and have an awesome entry. Second, if you somersaulted out of a room every time you might hit something or, if you were carrying something you might drop it. Lastly, if you entered a room backwards you wouldn't get dizzy.
However, some may argue that somersaulting out of a room would be better. But, if you somersaulted out of every room you could hurt yourself. That is why entering a room backwards is better than somersaulting out of a room.

  29. If I had to chose between always having to walk backwards into a room or having to do a somersault every time you exit a room, I would rather always walk backwards into a room. First, Walking backwards is easy and everybody knows how. Second, I can't do a somersault and, if I had to do one every time I exit a room that would be terrible. Finally, It would look really cool just coming into a room and you are just doing the moonwalk. However, some may argue that if you had to walk into a room backwards, wouldn't that get boring. I would rather walk into a room backwards.

  30. If I had to choose between walking into a room backwards or always somersaulting out, I would choose walking into a room backwards. First, you can look at the door before you see what else there is. Second, you can look at the hallway without turning around. Finally, if it's stinky in the room you can smell the fresh air longer. Some might say always somersaulting out is better because it looks cool, but if you run into something, it will hurt your head. That's why I would walk backwards into a room.

  31. I would choose doing a somersault because it would be hard to walk backwards. First, if you were walking backwards you might hit your head really hard. Second, doing a somersault is better because before you do it you can clear the way of toys, balls, and other stuff. Some other people might say that walking backwards is better because you don't have to walk backwards out, but the thing is that you can hit your head on a wall or door. So I would pick doing a somersault out of a room over walking backwards into a room.

  32. If I had to choose between somersaulting out of a room or walking backwards into a room, I would have to choose somersaulting out of one. Here are three awesome reasons why. First, somersaulting into a room looks way cooler than walking backwards into one. You would look like a total spy! Haven't you ever seen one of those spy movies where they do really cool somersaulting tricks? Well, if you haven't, the person who is somersaulting looks really amazing. Second, somersaulting into a room is way more fun than walking backwards into one. Especially if you have stairs outside your door! When you somersault out, you would go flying out of your door! Just like an indoor roller coaster! It would also be cool to somersault out of a pool house and into a pool. Who needs to be pushed in when you can just roll? Third, somersaulting out of rooms can help you build up your gymnastics skills. When you are a beginner, you have to practice forward rolls a lot. If you walk into a room numerous times, you'll become a natural at doing forward rolls! Although I think somersaulting out of a room is better than walking backwards into one, some may think of it as the other way around. After all, it is less painful. And, makes you better at impersonating Michael Jackson. But just walking backwards into a room isn't much of an entrance. It is almost even more boring than walking forwards into a room. That is why I think somersaulting out of a room is the perfect exit.

  33. If I had to walk in every door backwards or somersault out, I would rather walk in backwards. First, I could turn around right as I walk in. Second, you will be safer instead of rolling on the ground. Third, rolling out a door could get tiring. But others may say that somersaulting out of every room is fun! But I would rather walk into a room backwards.
