It's Traditional!

Dear students,

Most families have special Christmas traditions. Write about one tradition your family enjoys. Does your mom bake a certain kind of cookie each year? Do you assemble shoe boxes filled with gifts for needy children? Chop down your own Christmas tree? Sing Christmas carols at a retirement home?Describe this tradition in at least a 5 sentence paragraph.
Be sure to include:
  • a topic sentence
  • supporting details
  • complete sentences
  • correct spelling, capitalization (M.I.N.T.S.), and end punctuation.
  • a closing sentence
  • three of your spelling words

Happy blogging,
Ms. Blackmon

  1. Before I open my presents, I invite over my grandparents. They will bring their presents for us and maybe donuts. It is not really a tradition but we have done it for the past 3 years so it could be, it is just the only thing I remember. It is pretty fun that they are there because they love watching our faces explode when we open our presents.I guess this will go as a tradition.

  3. A tradition my family has is, we always buy gifts for kids in need. We also help bake sugar cookies for Santa. We always have to take Christmas pictures on the steps before we can open presents. My dad will always make a joke and say, "I do not think Santa came." We also all help put ordimants on the tree.

The last Christmas tradition we do is always make santa cards and mail it to him! We also like to see santa! I can't wait for Christmas to come! 15. One tradition I have with my family is that every year, we do advent calenders. One advent calender we have is a ark. There is a animal for each day of Christmas, up entill the 24. There is two of each animal, and they are scrambled in a random order. Some animals in the ark are doves, pigs, cows, and zebras. The doves go on top of the ark, and you can point them both ways like a arrow. Although there is a dove, there is no sparrow. As I said, each animal has a partner. That is one of my family's taditions.

Before we open the presents, we play outside, possibly in the snow if there is any. But my favorite part is still the presents. That's my favorite family tradition!!

  24. One tradition my family has is every year we have my mom's side of the family over to our house for Christmas. My parents sit at a table with the grown ups and my cousins sit together with my sisters and I for Christmas Eve dinner. After that, we start to make Santa's cookies. We put frosting on them and then we pour sprinkles and maybe a few chocolate chips onto them. then we make the reindeer food. We make it with a variety of foods. Then we take the reindeer food and sprinkle it in the grass in our front yard. Next, we go to the living room and my Dad reads The Night Before Christmas to me and all of my family. Finally, they bring us upstairs and we go to sleep. On Christmas morning we walk together down the stairs and stop right before the ground. We take a picture and then we grab each other's hands and walk down the last step. Then, we walk into the living room where our christmas tree is. After, we say 1 2 3 go and all of us run toward the Christmas tree or our stockings. We carry all of our presents and our stockings to our chair with our name on it. Then we start opening our presents one by one and everyone watches everyone open their presents. Then we have a few treats and then we have breakfast.
