Turkey Traditions!

Dear students,

Holidays are usually incorporated with traditions. The Peanuts gang started a tradition of eating around their ping pong table.

Does your family have any special traditions for Thanksgiving? If so, describe your traditions. If not, what traditions would you like to start up this year?

Be sure to include:
  • a topic sentence
  • supporting details
  • complete sentences
  • correct spelling, capitalization (M.I.N.T.S.), and end punctuation.
  • a closing sentence

Happy blogging,
Ms. Blackmon

  1. One tradition I do on Thanks Giving is .v.s. My sister Gracey and I both pull on the wish bone and see who can get the bigger piece. I don't want to brag but I'v lost every year. But in order to do that we either have to eat the who;e turkey or we rip it out. Sometimes it makes me sad because we took a turkey's life. But I'm stronger this year and I am going to beat my 14 year old sister... I am DITUREND!

  2. My family has a few really fun traditions for Thanksgiving, and they are super cool. One of them is that we go up to Bristol, North Virginia, where my great grandparents live, and have a huge feast. Some items on the "menu" are turkey, mashed potatoes, apple cider, stuffing, and chicken and dumplings. The WHOLE FAMILY is usually there, which is actually saying something, because my family is pretty extended. That's why l love Thanksgiving!!!

  4. One tradition my family has is that every other year we go and spend time with my dad's side of the family. The Mexicans. We have a big feast and then we do fun stuff together. We usually have a family reunion in California on Thanksgiving but this year we are going to hang out with my two sets of aunts and uncles, my 2 older cousin, my four month old baby cousin, My grandparents, and my family. Remember, this is my dad's side of the family. I love spending time with my big family because I don't get to see them every week.

  5. My favorite tradition for Thanksgiving is when my whole family gets together and I don't want the turkey, but I still have to eat it. I usally eat a little bit of turkey, mashed potatos, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and buttered bread. It is never a Thanksgiving unless I spill something. I love to sit next to my cousins, aunts, and uncles, ect. My uncle and aunt are chefs in New York City, so She always brings like 10 pies including pumpkin, cheesecake, chess, peach, apple, and marshmellow. I love to get together with my family. We always have a good time. THe food is the best I have ever had!

  6. Every year my family goes to Atlanta for Thanksgiving to visit one of my sides of my grandparents . It is almost always my mom side , but sometimes it is my dad side. we would be either go to the Chaple to eat Thanksgiving dinner or stay at one or the other sides houses and eat Thanksgiving there. After Thanksgiving dinner my familey would watch foot ball and hang out . Then I would eat a snack and go to bed with my sister . That is my thanksgiving thing I do every year.
