Students,
We have had some insightful conversations on our blog. We have discussed reading strategies, characters from our books, and compared and contrasted different ideas. Phew! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
Now, let's have a different kind of conversation and give you all the opportunity to have some creative writing. I would like about the following prompt:
Imagine that for one day only you could have a pet monkey! What would you do with you pet? What would you name him/her? What adventures would you two have? Please describe your day with your new friend.
Remember, students, to watch out for run-ons, and to write in complete sentences. I look forward to reading your comments!

My pet monkeys name would be Lulu. I would take her to school and she would do everything for me. She would do my homework for me and she would be my best friend. I would make our back bedroom a mini jungle for her. It would have vines that she could swing on, bannana trees that she could eat from, everything she would need for her mini jungle. We would be undercover spies for the Kid and Monkey Spy Organization. We would go on all kinds of cool misions and have tons of fun together! Right now I am wishing that she and the Kid and Monkey Spy Organization exsisted.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a pet monkey I would name him Ralph and I would give him bananas all day. If it was summer I would take him to the fair and see how he reacted to the other people there. If anyone there had any fruit I would ask if they would give it to my monkey. I also would teach him all kinds of tricks like how to dance and juggle. ={)
ReplyDeleteI would name my monkey bobby. I would go and have lunch with him at the funky griddlewould show him my house i would get a cage and play with him.I would go to Monkey Joe's with him.
ReplyDeleteI would name him Dexter. He would be my best friend. We would go to the Zoo so Dexter can say hi to his monkey friends. For lunch we eat at Chick-filet. Dexter loves the Hamburgers (P.S.) he calls it a Monkey Burger-Banana.Then are day is over and it is time for bed. I sleep in my bed he sleeps in a American Girl Doll bed. That is our day we might have a different activity each day.
ReplyDeleteI would name my Monkey Jojo. I would probably go to the zoo with it and meat the other monkeys.I would also go on Monkey Bares with him. And for lunch all we would eat is Bananas. Next we would jump on the bed and we would be really hyper.

ReplyDeleteIf I had a pet monkey, I would name it Bailey. If I could do anything with Bailey I would go to the park to let her play, and of course I would have to play too. We would mostly play at the monkey bars. Our hearts would start to pump in excitement. After that we would go to California Pizza Kitchen. Bailey would get a big pepperoni pizza, and I would get mac and cheese. We would mainly just stay there and talk with each other. After that we will go to the candy store and get lots of candy. The rows of candy would be filled to the ceiling! We would love all the candy and by a pound each! That would be my day with Bailey.

ReplyDeleteMe, and my monkey Mark visited Dollywood. Today. We went on all the roller coasters in the whole park we had a great time.( We weren't scared of any of the roller coasters). Then we went to go swimming Mark didn't like it at all. Then we went home we watched a movie. Then we went to bed. I hope tomorrow that we will have as much fun as yesterday.
One day I was sitting in my living room watching TV. Suddenly my mom walked in with a box. She sat the box in front of me and said "Open the box." I opened the box and to my surprise it was a monkey. "You get to keep it for one day only," my mom explained to me.
ReplyDeleteI carried it in to my room and starred at it for a while. It looked like it was debating something. As I got up to to ask my mom a question the monkey blurred out " I am a talking monkey, but you cant tell anyone."
"My name is Jo Jo," the monkey said starting to calm down. " Jo Jo started to tell me about the evil gorilla at the zoo.
He asked me if I could take him to the zoo. I nodded my head, and took him there he took down the evil gorilla and told me he had to leave for another mission that I could not go on.
That was the day I went on a mission with a talking spy monkey!
If I had a pet monkey, I would name it Gilbert. Me and him would spend the whole day together. We would start of the day with video games. We could go get candy and get a sugar rush. After we could play with water balloons and hit my sister. When he leaves I will give him a picture of me.
ReplyDeleteMy monkeys name is Orlando I would fly him to LA in a private plane. We went to breakfast at the pear. We walked over to a fortune teller. He told us that we were going to have good luck for the rest of the day. We went to the arcade and there was a game that was broken that kept going without any money. Then we ate lunch and got cotton candy. They gave us a extra cotton candy stick. We went on a ride at the end of the day we ate dinner and got a huge sunday. That was our day.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a monkey i would name it Buster. We would go to the movie Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. After that would go to the best banana place. Then we would go to my house and read 6 Little Monkeys Jumping On A Bed. Then we would jump on my bed. We would eat dinner and go to bed.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is Shona and my monkey's name is Lilly. Today my monkey and I went to the zoo, the museum, and the library. Then we went to go get some ice cream. He got chocolate and I got vanilla. Then we went home, and he messed up my house. That was my day.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is SJ and my monkey's name is Jozy. I found her once in the garden behind my school. I took her home and my mom loved her! I like to cuddle with her and read with her. We love to go to the water fall and eat ice cream. I hope my mom and dad will let me keep her forever.
ReplyDeleteOne day I found a monkey in my closet. I got to keep him I named him Dexter. We went to the museum to see the monkey section. When we left we got ice cream for lunch then we played video games for the rest of the day. Then we went to bed.
ReplyDeleteToday was my Birthday! My mom brought in a wrapped box with holes in the side. I ripped the ribbon off and tore off the paper ripped off the top and saw a little monkey sitting in the box. She was tan with eyes like walnuts. I named her Coco because her fur looked like coco mix. First I took her to the mall and spent my birthday money. Then we went to a water park and rode all the rides twice! After that we went to get ice cream and I got birthday cake flavord ice cream. Then we went home and jumped on my trampoline for 30 minutes. We played a family soccer game and we won. My younger brother, my dad, and Coco were on my team. We were so worn out that we watched a movie and fell asleep 15 minutes into it. That was our day it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a pet monkey, I would name it Rufus. I would teach all kinds of tricks, like to sit on Reid's face when Reid slept. I would also teach it to do my homework, and pick-pocket my parents. It would be good to teach it to clean up its business, or at least just do it in Reid's room. A pet monkey would be so much fun! Well, maybe not for Reid.

ReplyDeleteOne day I was walking around in a pet store and I saw the most awesome monkey! He was a wonderful shade of brown, he had bright blue eyes, he had lost his tail in a car accident. I felt sorry for him and asked to buy him. The clerk said he was worth 5$ I had just enough! So when we went home, he started swinging and made a HUGE mess. That is how I got him.
Last night I won lottery money. I went to the zoo to try to by the cutest monkey? The zoo keeper said, " you may not have a monkey!!! " So at night I went to the zoo and got the monkey. I went home and put the monkey on my bed and fed him bananas. I named my monkey J.J. He was a boss. When I woke up there was J.J. lying by my side. He was brown and had the best personality ever for a monkey. My mom was mad I still had that little guy. I thought that he needed to go back to the zoo and get back to reality. I was sad he left but I knew it was time. I said by and went home. I drew a picture of him and would always go and see him.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a monkey, I would name him Joe. Joe and I would go to Memphis and watch the Grizzlies play the Cavaliers. It would be a tight game and they would go to triple overtime. Lebron James shot a half court buzzer beater to win the game. I would go back to my house and have a prank wars with my brother. Then I would go to S.A.T.C.O. (San Antonio Taco Company) for lunch. Then I would play capture the flag and it would be Joe and I vs. my dad and Jack. Then we ate dinner at Chuy's and went back home. We went to sleep. That was my day!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a pet monkey I would name him Burgerz. I would take him fishing and we would catch a bunch of fish and then we would go to China and meet the emperor. Then we would hang him by his arms and shoot paintballs at him. Then we would go back home and have waffles for lunch and dinner and for desert we would steal candy from a baby.
ReplyDeleteOne day I was in my room and my stuff animal Philly was siting on my bed. Then all of a sudden Philly came to life for only one day. So I was going shoping so I took Philly with me. We went to a lot of store's and we bought Philly a bow tye that sang the song trupets. When we were done we went to J alexzanders and Philly got mash bannana's. Then we went to see a freind. When we got to her house she had a monkey too! His name was Wilmer. Philly and Wilmer played for and long time then we had to go to the circus. I buckeled Philly in his little car seat and we left. Philly was so excited he almost jumped out of the car. When we got to the circus I bought Philly cotton candy. Then we got our seat Philly had cotton candy stuck in his fur. Then the show started it was so cool. Philly tried to run up to the stage and I had to hold him back. When it was over we went home at night he got his superman pj's on and went to sleep on the little bed I made him. When I woke up he was a stuffed animal again. I was sad that he was gone. But I had fun
ReplyDeleteI have a monkey buttler I would name him Dr.Pigbelly. He went to medical school, and got his dgree. He also got his dgree in art, acting and he is a chiropractor in Russia. He is a very smart monkey so he dose my homework and he is my personal chef. We wach movies to gether last night we wached treasure isaland. A few days ago we got back from road trip. We went every ware form England to France to Astria to Russia to Astralia. I have the best time with my monkey buttler.

We moved to Boston and we went to a Boston bruins game but we went out to eat at a monkey welcome place and he dressed up in a tuxedo and he ordered the banana with a side of bacon. after we went to the store and we got lots of things his favorite thing was the stuffed monkey and he named it Orlando. Then we went to the game and he disappeared and then i looked and looked and he was on the ice and he got a hat trick and he hit a dud and he broke his arm. Finally we went home.
ReplyDeleteOne day I was driving to the grocery store with my dad, when we were checking out, my dad gave me five bucks to buy a lottery ticket, just for fun. I ran over to the machine and bought a four dollar ticket titled "Monkey Money!" I scraped off the monkeys one by one. All I could think about was that if I got two monkeys, three one dollar bills, and a car I would get one thousand dollars. I f I got nine monkeys I would get one hundred dollars, if I got six monkeys I would get fifty dollars, if I got two cars I would get twenty dollars, and if I got all cars I would get nothing! I scraped off three parts of the ticket, I got three one dollar bills, next I scraped off the next two parts and got two monkeys, I took a deep breath in, I scratched off the last section and got.......................................................................... A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had just won a thousand dollars!! "Dad" I screamed " I won a thousand dollars!"

"I'm going to buy a monkey!" I screamed put.
The next day I went to the zoo and asked the zoo kepper if I could take his Gorilla off his shoulders. He told me he was fine, so he left me no choice. I had to steal the monkey. I snuck into the zoo and took Johnathan the Gorilla. I ran out of the zoo with my new pet. We rushed home and fell fast asleep together.
The next day Johnathan and I went to the movies, Pump it up, and Climb Nashville. We ate popcorn and ice cream.
While we were having ice cream I saw the zoo keeper. I panicked! He saw Johnathan and I, we made a mad dash to my house. We lost him at third avanue ( we live on fourth avanue). After that I woke up and the dream was over. Well, new day new dreams, I thought.

My monkey name would be John. We would go to the MSU game. After that you would go to mugshots and see who could eat the mugshot and get the money. then we went home and we would have 13 oz root beer float`s.
ReplyDeleteI found a green monkey on the streets eating a pear. I wanted to be nice so I tried to take him home. My mommy screamed her head off when she saw him and said that she didn't want her book club buddies seeing that she lived with a green monkey and that I needed to put him back on the streets. So I kept him in my shed. And we went everywhere together. After a while I came up with a name, veggie. I named him veggie because he was green, and looked like a piece of asparagus. One day I decided to go to the mall, and did I mention my monkey talked? Well, we went to the mall and he screamed, "CHOCOLATE NOODLES EATING PAPYA!!!!!" That was the last time we took veggie to the mall. After a while I invited veggie's mom and dad over. But they couldn't come. So we just visited them, at the zoo. I spent hours teaching them english, but they got the hang of it after a while. I handed the mom monkey a tissue and named here sue. I gave the dad monkey a pair of glasses and called him Tim. They were a PERFECT match. And that was how i got a pet monkey. Got any more questions?
