For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:
- A topic sentence stating your opinion
- At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
- One counter argument
- A concluding sentence summarizing your writing
Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:
Would you rather have the ability to see 10 years into your own future or one year into the future of the world?

P.S.-Here is my example:
If I had the choice to have a 3-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a 3-day weekend every week. If I had a 3-day weekend instead of 2 days, I would get a lot more done! In addition, I would not have to work as much, and I could spend more time working out, shopping, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with my friends. Plus, I would not feel so rushed on my weekends. I could even go out of town for long weekends and visit family and friends! However, some may prefer an extra month of summer vacation because they could take longer trips. I think the benefits of longer weekends out weigh the benefits of an extra month of summer. I prefer having a 3-day weekend rather than having another month of summer vacation.
If I had to choose I would want to see ten years into the my future. If I chose that I would be able to see ten years into the world's future also. That is why I choose that. Also I want to see my future.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see 10 years into my future more than see 1 year into the future wourld because I could see if I would do anything bad and make sure not to do it. Also you could see many more years into time.
ReplyDeleteI would rather see 1 year into the future because I want to know if another Kedesha commercial coming out. Also I would love to see all the new apple stuff, and I would like to see which class I am going to be in next year, and I would love to see Finding Dory in theaters I am so exited to see it. And the reason why I only chose one year is because I want my future to surprise me.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choise of going to the world future 1 year or my future 10 years, I would go to my future. I would do that so that I would be prepared for my future. For example if I was gonna move to Texas, I would need to go ahead and be a cowboys fan. And I could still see the world around me. That is why I would want to see my future!

I would choice 10 years into my future because I would get to see what collage I would go to. What my life would be like. Also it's 9 years more than one year into the future of the world. Although some may argue that 1 year into the future of the world would be better because it's the world but, 1 year in the world doesn't charge much at all. That is why I would choice 10 years into my own future.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I would want to see 10 years into the future of my life, some may argue that looking 1 year into the world's future. For example, they could see what they have and what was invented and what is going on. However, I would want to see in 10 years what was going on in my life like what college I go to and things that are going on in my life. That's why I would like to have that ability.
If I had a choice between being able to see 10 years into my future or 1 year into the worlds future, I would choose seeing 1 year into the worlds future. I would choose it so I could see everything that's going on in the world, not just my life. Also I could tell if there was going to be an earthquake or a flood, and I could be safe. I could also see whats going to happen to me, because I am part of the world. Some people might argue that 10 years is longer than 1 year, but I could see 1 year, and then the next year, and there is no point in seeing 10 years in the future. That is why I would choose seeing 1 year into the worlds future.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice of being able to see in my own future for 10 years and the future of the world for 1 year, I would rather be able to see the future of the world because I would get to see the whole world! Instead of my plain boring life. I mean I could see the future of my life for only one month and my future would get really boring. But the whole world is a whole different ball game. You would get to see the future of China, Russia, India, France, and all of the countries. It's like exploring the whole world!!! That is why I would like to see the future of the whole world for 1 year.

You could also see what your job would be. you could also find out what you have been doing. However, if you could see the future for other people you could see what other people look like. I think it would be better to se 10 years into the future for yourself than one year for everybody.

I would rather do that because I could be able what I look like when i'm twenty one, if I would be playing sports, and what college i'd be going to. Also you might be able to see your background, and see if the world has changed. Some people may argue that seeing one year into the future is better because the could see people at their school to see if they have braces or if people have gone to different schools. But, I think seeing me ten years in future is better because you get to see what you look like. That is why I chose to see me ten years into the future!!!!!!!!!!!

However, some may want to see one year into the future, but if you look ten years in your future you can see what happens around you instead of one year you could see ten years. Also I could see if they make ten more kadesha commercials.

I think it would be better to help everyone because you can yourself and others. Also you can see if you need to prepare food for people who will not have food. that is what I think about that.

ReplyDeleteIf I could see 1 year into the future or 10 years i would choose 10 years. I would choose ten years because I could see how I turned out to be like. Maybe I could be a softball pitcher. Maybe a bowler. However, some may argue that one year is better than 10 because you might spoiler things but I think 10 is better because you can change if something is wrong. That is why I chose to see ten years into the future.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice I would want to see 10 years into my own future. The reason why I say this is because wouldn't you want to see what college you go to. And you can see all of the new movies that are coming out into theaters. Also you can see what you will become when you grow up some day. Some may argue that seeing 1 year into the future is better, I disagree because all you will really see is what will happen to the world. You can't see your own future, you will see the worlds future . There is truly no fun in that. That is why I chose seeing 10 years into my future.

I would choose see my own future because the only thing I am scared about the world is when it is going to end.Also I could see what I need to change in my life.One other thing is to see if I am dead or not.Some people still might pick see 1 year into the world because you could see if the flying car is invented or if the new xbox is out. I would do that because when I grow up I want to be a profesional swimmer and I am 10 so I could see the future until I am 20. Some people may argue that see the worlds future for one year is better because you could go up to your friend and tell him something that will happen to him. But I think he would probly not believe him. ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice of either seeing 10 years into my future of 1 year into the future of the World, I would pick seeing 10 years into my future. If I could see 10 years into my future, I could see the World's future as well as mine, not just the world's. It would also give me a chance to change what I was going to do. I could also warn people before something happend to them. Also, it would give me a break from the present. However , some people argue it could change the history of the World, and their lives forever, instead of seeing what was going to happen to the World in a year. I think the benefits of seeing 10 years into my future outweigh the benefits of seeing 1 year into the future of the World. I prefer seeing 10 years into my future rather than seeing 1 year into the World's future.

Last but not least you could see what you would look like. Although I would want to see 10 years through my future some may argue that seeing 1 year into the worlds future because they would want to see who won the national championship. The reason I chose this is because I could see what college I am going to go to, if I go to the WNBA, and what I look like. Another reason is because I could see all the bad stuff that is going to happen to me, and see if I could change it. However, some may argue that seeing 1 year of the worlds future could be more helpful because if something bad was going to happen to the world, they could send out a warning and everybody could be safe. I prefer seeing 10 years of my future rather that seeing 1 year into the worlds future.

I would rather have the ability to do that because I would be able to know what everybody is doing instead of just me. I would also rather have that ability because I could be paid millions to tell people what will happen to them and how to fix it if it is bad. Another reason I would like this ability is I would be a real fortune teller instead of one of the fake ones that rip you off. On the other hand Some people would rather see into their own future. These are my reasons would rather have why I would like to see into the future of the world.

I chose that because I could see if the girls that were stolen in Nigeria were saved. Also, I could see if we have a new presidents. My final reason is that I could see if Mr. Bone got elected for the mayor. However, some may argue that they would rather see ten years into their own future because they could see what college they got into or if they got the dog they wanted. I would prefer to see one year in to the world rather than ten years into my own future.
