Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox
"Don't be silly," says Brownie, after the fox knocks her down and sends her basket flying. "You're too late for breakfast. You'll have to wait for lunch." And so the two head out for a morning of adventure, which includes gliding and twirling and swirling and looping and swooping across a frozen pond.
Soon, however, Fox begins thinking about food again, and informs Brownie that he is ready to eat her for lunch. "You skated right past lunch," says Brownie. "Now you'll have to wait until dinner." Before dinner comes, however, Brownie ties the Fox to a tree. She starts to leave him, but then has second thoughts…

I am reading The River by Gary Paulsen. It is about a boy showing a survival teacher how he survived in book 1 Hatchet.Right now they are trying to build a fire, and the survival teacher Derek is taking notes in his journal. That is all I have read.

ReplyDeleteMy book is "Life of Pi". It is about a boy whose family gets moved from India to Canada. When Pi was in school the other kids called him "Pissing" instead of "Pisine". Pi's family works at a zoo. Instead of having one religion, Pi has a bunch. When Pi and his family were heading to Canada., the boat sinks and his family dies. Pi gets stuck on a boat with a tiger named Richard Parker. They become friends. READ THIS BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteI book I have read before is Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. Hugo's dad has died and Hugo lives with his drunk uncle. Hugo's uncle eventually dies and Hugo is off on his own. He has to take care of the clocks in a Paris train station. He has to steal to survive and rescues a mechanical man from a burnt down museum where Hugo's dad used to work. He tries to fix it with his father's drawings,but an old man at a toy booth takes it. As he tries to get it back, the clocks soon begin to break down.If the station inspector finds out, he goes to the orphanage and loses everything he's ever worked for. Will he get caught? Will he fix the mechanical man?
ReplyDeleteA book I have read before is called Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. It is about a orphan boy named Hugo who lives by him self in a train station.He has to steel, work the clocks, and not get caught by the station inspector. He is only staying at the station because of three reasons: one, he has to work on the clocks. Second he will have to go to the dreaded orphanage. Third has to fix the automaton to see if there is a secret message from his father.
ReplyDeleteThe last book I read was Franny K. Stein. It is a funny book about a little girl that is a mad sciencetist but no one takes her serious. Her family is a family that wants her daughter to be a goodie to shoes that loves ponies and rainbows but she hates people who are like that.
ReplyDeleteMy book is called Sign of the Beaver. It is about a boy who is on his own because his father went to go get his mom and sister. The boy has to survive on his own for seven whole weeks! At least that is what his father said. Will his father come back in time? READ THIS BOOK TO FIND OUT!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Football Genius by Tim Brown. The main character is Troy who has a special talent of predicting the plays he knows the play before it happens. His neighbor who is a star linebacker for the Falcons named Seth Halloway who tries to show the coaches his talent, but they keep saying no. He stole a football from Seth's yard so his mom has not been very nice lately.

His dad says he has to fill the tractors up with this new kind of gas. The next day he goes out side and he sees a tractor driving by it self. Then it started chasing after him. That whole day he was trying to stop the tractors Will he be able to stop the tractors or will the tractors take over? Read this book to find out!
ReplyDeleteMy book is called The Lost Hero. It all starts as a kid wakes up on a bus holding a girl's (that is so happens is his girlfriend) hand that he doesn't know. He is being talked to by (apparently) his best friend. They are on their way to a camp for bad behaved kids. A storm hits and all of the sudden he is at the place where he is supposed to become a hero and be claimed my a god or a goddess. Will he be claimed by his mom (goddess) or his dad (god)? ReplyDeletethe book I am reading is the magicians elephant. this book is about a boy that's famliy has died... he thinks! the little boys name is peter. when he was young was given to one of his dads friend. one day his dads friend told him to go get some food but peter got distrackted by a tent in the middle of the rode. inside was a forten teller who told him his sister was alive and that a elephant will guide him to him. so red the book to find out if the fourchen teller is right!
ReplyDeleteMy last book I read was Stranded. It was about a little girl that lost her foot when a car ran over it. She lives in the middle of the Ocean and always goes out to sea to explore. She finds a whale has been half eaten by a shark. When she started to panic the whale rolled over. She thought the whale was dead but it was just giving birth! Then disaster struck. Her parents were getting divorced.
ReplyDeleteMy book is called 11 Birthdays. I just started it. So far, the book is telling about 11 years ago what the little girl is doing. And then on the next chapter It tells what she was doing ten years ago. Amanda thinks that she is going to have a great birthday party, but her mom makes her where a itchy costume for her boring Hollywood party. Amanda ex best friend across town is having her party with a football star and a bash! What will she do about her party?!

It's a book about a girl named Ally who is trying out for princess penelope in her classes open house play, but when the meanest girl in school Cheneyee wants to try out for that part to Ally starts to feel really nervous when she is auditioning. There's another reason Ally is really nervous because one of her really good friends named Sofie wants to try out for the same part Ally and Cheneyee want to. Ally dosn't want to be a bad friend,but when she gets stuck in the middle she can't find a way to figure things out.
ReplyDeleteMy book is called Time Cat and it is by Lloyd Alexander. It is about a boy named Jason who has a cat named Gareth that has ten lives. THe lives don't mean more than one life, but it means they can travel to ten different places in 2 seconds. They go back in time. THey meet many different people and religions as they travel. They get into many dangerous situations. YOu will have to read it to find out more about it.

It all starts with Amanda and Leo, they have known each other since birth. Literally, They have the same birthday too. But when Amanda finds out what Leo said on her tenth birthday, She's not happy. Amanda does not speak for a year. Then the craziest thing happens. Amanda's birthday happens the next day and the next day and the day after that. Amanda soon finds out that it's happening to Leo too, Will they ever find out to break this enchantment? This is a kind book about to friends breaking an enchantment.
ReplyDeleteThe book that I'm reading is called Entwined By Heather Dixon. This Book so far is about a girl/princess named Azalea who is one out of 12 sisters. It has just been the night after the Christmas Eve Ball. The next morning the girls awake on Christmas with no presents. Azalea asks her Minister where her father is? He says he has gone riding. Azalea asks where did her very ill mother put the presents,and her says that her mother had just died last night. Azalea runs off into the woods,and starts to cry. She walks back into the castle and stays she is sorry to her other sisters of leaving them. Her younger sisters says that you need to meet our new little sister named Lily. All of the girls have names that are in alphabetical order by oldest and youngest.

They are trying to find a way to not make their princepal not so mean. they find a ring and they put it up in the princepals face, and the ring turns him into a!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will have to read the book to find out. It's kinda ovieous who he turns into.

They are looking for the fifth pearl that goes to the belt of deltora, there are seven pearls. Read the book to find out how it ends!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy book is called I Survived 9/11. There is this boy named Lucas and he plays football,but he gets a concussion and can't play again. So he goes out of school to see his uncle and when they were talking and then a airplane come and hits the towers!!! If you like sad books this is one.

It is about a man who is very poor and runs a trap Line to get Bever pelts witch have a bounty. was running his trapline when he saw a deer multiated by wolves after that he stoppes trapping. If you like action packed books you will like this one.
