Dear students,
Each new year, I choose One Little Word (OLW). The OLW is one word that will represent, or symbolize, the year ahead. The word should be personal and thoughtful.
I have thought a great deal about my OLW. For 2020, I selected "trust" as my One Little Word. I selected "trust" because I don't always trust God's plan and try to make my own way. I need this word to remind me to trust not only His plan for me but also to trust in the strengths and talents He has blessed me with, rather than worry about the future. Trust can apply to my life in so many ways - through friends, work, my students, my family, myself, and ultimately, God's plan for me. I will use this word to guide me through the days of 2020.

ReplyDeleteI have thought about my one little word. For 2020, it is patience. Patience applies to my life because I always have to be patient. For example, I have to be patient when I wait my turn. Patience can guide my year by becoming more patient with a lot of things. This year I can use patience by waiting in line, waiting until it's time to talk, and waiting for Christmas.

This year I selected hopeful for my OWL. I need to practice being hopeful and always looking on the bright side. I want to practice being hopeful that God will help me through tough times. When you hope it can bring you and others up. hope can help you through your day. Instead of looking for what can go wrong, I need to hope that things go right. I need to practice being hopeful.

One way I could have fun is going to disneyland or universal. another way could be, ole miss going to a bowl or meating a ole miss player. and the best of all would be if I went to canada to fish with my dad. And way would anybody want 2020 to be boring.

My little word is trust, because sometimes I have trouble trusting others. Sometimes I don't trust others, and always think my way is right.Sometimes I don't think something my parents has promised me will happen, because it hasn't happened yet.But my parents tell me to trust them and sometimes I have trouble with that. I think that trust will be a great word for 2020.-wynn
ReplyDeleteMy O-L-W[one-little-word]that I choose was ''relax'' because sometimes I need a break and need to relax. Also,I get so stressed out about stuff that I forget to relax. For example, when I am doing homework I forget to stop and have a break and then go back to doing my homework. Also, sometimes at night when I am trying to go to sleep I forget to relax, and if I don't I keep thinking of what is going to happen tomorrow. So my goal for this year is to relax more.-Lucy
ReplyDeleteMy OLW is "forward". I chose this word because if something happens, I can't just be thinking about it all the time. Usually I just look back at something that happened. Then I end up doing bad on a test or something. If I just don't think about something I may forget about it.

I want to achieve a higher grade on my math. Also achieve a better grade on the ERB. The reason why is because I want to do good is because I want to get in any next school I want to. Also to get better at the things I need to work on. Also so I could probably try to go to boarding school. Kai
ReplyDeleteFor my OLW, I choose the word better because I can improve in so many ways. Including sports, math, reading, writing, social studies, and much more. Some things you can't get better unless you try, try, try, try, and try. Which is why you should keep going because life can be tough sometimes, so you just need to push through and never give up. I chose the word better because I can improve a ton.

This year I choose the word confidence. I chose this word because sometimes I think that I can't do something, when I should just have confidence in myself.Confidence can also help you stand up to people by trusting in yourself. Confidence means to believe or trust in yourself, and to know that you can do something. I will use confidence throughout 2020 and the rest of my life. -Georgia
ReplyDeleteThe word I chose was strength. The reason I chose the word strength is because you can use strength all though out the year. For example, you can show strength when you are hurt if you fall down get right back up. If you get a grade that you are not happy with than you can show strength and say to your self I will do better next time. And that is how my OLW can guide me through the year - Livi

ReplyDeleteI chose positive for my one little word (OLW).I chose positive because I am not usually super positive in the things I do.I need to be more positive about the things I am doing is the right thing to do and if they're the bad choices that I can make.I need to work on being more positive because I feel sad and left out a lot that I need to look on the positive side of things. So now on for 2020 I will look on the positive side of things.CARSON NEUMANN
ReplyDeleteThis year I chose the word 'risk.'I chose that word because God took a risk when he died on the cross ,and it turned up good because he came back to life and now we get to live.So in 2020 I want to take risks.I could do something I have not done,I could eat something new.Sarah
ReplyDeleteMy O-L-W is thankfulness. I'm really picky when it comes to eating and instead of saying that's disgusting I could just say I don't want it. I also think that for some reason I like things that other people don't like are the only things I like and I should not tell them that I don't like what they like and keep that to myself. I should be thankful for what I have and not say anything if I think it is gross. I think thankfulness is a big thing to have in my life.

I really think I can say grit is the best word for me this year. Grit means to go far, push yourself to try harder. For me this is something I need to work harder on. Sometimes, I just put in ABOUT the work that is asked, and I don't do the extra credit. But I KNOW I am more capable and if I want to be the best I can be, I need to do this even if it means going outside my comfort zone. God gave us all this ability for a reason, sometimes, it just takes a while to find it.

I chose the word "hockey." I chose the word hockey because, I want to get better at hockey. In hokey I want to play smarter and hit better. I want to play smarter because, when you play smarter you can draw penalties, score more goal, and skate faster.
