Would You Rather Part 1
Dear students,
For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:
Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:
Would you rather have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation?

P.S.-Here is my example:
If I had the choice to have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a three-day weekend every week. If I had a three-day weekend instead of two days, I would get a lot more done! In addition, I would not have to work as much, and I could spend more time working out, shopping, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with my friends. Plus, I would not feel so rushed on my weekends. I could even go out of town for long weekends and visit family and friends! However, some may prefer an extra month of summer vacation because they could take longer trips. I think the benefits of longer weekends outweigh the benefits of an extra month of summer. I prefer having a three-day weekend rather than having another month of summer vacation.

If I had the choice to have a three-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a three-day weekend every week. If I had a three-day weekend instead of two days, I would get a lot more done! I would say 3 day weekend because if you think about it If there are 36 weeks of school There would be 36 more days of instead of 30 days off. We would also have a 4 day week and 3 day weekend, so there are almost even. Even though I think we should have A 3 day weekend every week some may argue that they want 30 straight days off of school. Also 30 straight days off is better than 36 days off once a week, but thats if you are not patient, but if you are that I would do 36 days off once a week. I think that having 36 days off once a week is better than having 30 straight days off of the school year.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have a three-day weekend over an extra month of Summer because school isn't that bad,but I would still want a long weekend and a shorter week. although I would like a three-day weekend other people might say an extra month of Summer might be better because you have more time to do things you want and have more time to relax, also there would be one less month of school, but I think a three-day weekend would be nice and fun.

I would rather have a three day weekend every week because we would have less school. Because it would still be the same amount of days in summer. It would also be less days for homework. You get homework during summer. you wouldn't always have homework on weekends. I bet some people think that 1 extra month of summer but i would like to have 3 extra days of summer.

If I had the choice of having a three day weekend every weekend, or to have an extra month of summer, it would be to have a three day weekend every weekend instead of having an extra month of summer. My first reason is that I've done the calculations, and an extra day of the weekend would be significantly better than having an extra month of summer. Secondly, summer is long enough as it is, and I'm not worried about having an extra month of summer as much as I am about my education. Lastly, Having an extra day of the weekend will let me pack more things into the weekend (Because, according to Calvin and Hobbes,"The days are just PACKED") That is why I'd have an extra day on the weekend instead of having an extra month of summer.

If I had a choice I would choose the three day weekend because you get more time off school every week. You also only have to go to school for four days every week, and that means you don't have nearly as much work to do every week. Even though I would rather have a three day weekend, others might want to have another month of summer. I mean that would be three months of summer vacation to do whatever you want. You could go to the pool, hang out with friends or even go to the beach for a whole extra month. However, you would eventually have to go back to school and you wouldn't have a big break again until the next summer. I would rather have a three day weekend because with all of the weeks in a school year I would definitely want a break every weekend. I would definitely rather have a three day weekend then a extra month of summer.

If I had to choose to have a extra month of summer or a extra day of the weekend each and every weekend I would choose a extra day every weekend. I chose this one because then I would have more time to get my weekend homework done. Also, I could do more stuff during the weekend like rock climbing, going to the lake house,have more chances for sleepovers, and a lot of other cool stuff. Furthermore, I would only have to go to school for four days a week. Although, longer weekends are better than one extra month of summer some may argue a month of summer is better. You would have more time to vacation and be at the pool. It is also the month of my birthday so more celebrating! But, if you think about it you don't have to do as many chores as you do in the summer for my family. We have summer rules that take forever to finish. So, a extra day of the weekend would be much more fun.

If I could chose to have a three day weekend or a extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a three day weekend. I would chose this because I would get more time to play and do homework. However, some may say that an extra month of summer is better because you could have more time to do your summer reading and math or you can have more time to go on summer vacation. I think if you had a three day weekend it would add up to more than a extra month. That is why I chose a three day weekend.

I would rather have a three day weekend instead of having an extra month in summer. I would want a three day weekend because,1 I would get less time in school days, and 2 I would get more time on the weekends. Also if you add up all the days you got for the extra weekend days for it would be more than a month. So I wouldn't want to have an extra month of summer vacation if the extra days in the weekend already add up to more than a month for the school year. Although if I choose an extra month in summer I would have more summer vacation days to spare, I would still have to wait until school started, and who doesn't want an extra month of swimming in the sun with all of your friends.In conclusion if I had the choice to make weekends longer and school days 4 days instead of 5 I would.

I think we should have a extra month of Summer. I think this because we would have more time to relax on brake. Also you can take really long trips. Some may say that a three day weekend would be better, because they would get lots of homework over the Summer. But you would still get homework over the weekend but not enough time to do it. Furthermore, you could spread out your homework over the summer. That's why I think we should have a longer summer. Luke
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose between a 3 day weekend or a extra month of summer I would choose a 3 day weekend.It would be good because no one likes Mondays so it could be a nice brake from having too much school.Also, if you just happen to stay up to late on Sunday you won't have to worry about not get a lot of sleep.It can also help with spending more time with your family.Some may argue that a extra month of summer is better,because it can help you have more time with your friends at camp.Also it can help line up the time that school comes back with some public schools.Although some may say that a extra month is better some may ague that 3 day weekend is better because it can help you be more ready for school.Therefor it can make you do better in school.I think that a 3 day weekend is better.
ReplyDeleteIf i could choose between an extra month of summer or a three day weekend, I would choose a three day weekend. I would choose a three day weekend because you would only have 4 days a week and you would have more time to do what you want. Plus, I would want a three day weekend because if you play sports you only have a little more than one day of resting, and is you have an extra day you can rest some more. Finally, if you do the math you basically have an extra month of summer vacation with three day weekends, and you still have summer vacation. Although I would want three day weekends some may argue that there should be an extra month of summer. For example, it gives you a lot of free time without having school in the middle of it.I think three day weekends would give you a lot more free time. I prefer, three day weekends over one extra month of summer vacation.

If I had a choice I would choose an extra month of summer because you don't have to wait until the week days are over. But if you choose the summer you can enjoy an extra month of hot weather. This is why I choose an extra month of summer.

I would rather have a three day weekend because... but some may argue that having an extra month of summer vacation is more fun because you could get another trip in.The three day weekend would be one day of school instead of school. and that's why I pick three day weekend.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have a 3 day weekend but some may argue that an extra month is better. For example, you have an extra thirty days off. You also have a lot more time at the pool. However, a three day weekend would give you more time to do your homework, and overall give you a longer free time.
ReplyDeleteIf I could choose between an extra month of summer or three day weekends, I would rather choose three day weekends. You could more done and sleep in longer! It would give you an extra twenty-four hours to do more with your family, friends, and neighbors. Though, some may argue that you could squeeze in another trip or more! ReplyDeleteI would rather have a three day weekend because I feel the weekend is very short and the weeks are long also i'm fine with how the summer is now and the year and some kids that aren't able to play games on week can have a long weekend to play and the year would go by longer to cause of the free time on weekends. But some might say you get more time to play in the summer but i say two and a haft a month. SO I rather have a three day weekend every week more than a month added to the summer. Jagger
ReplyDeleteIf I had a to choose between an extra month of summer or 3 days of the weekend then I would choose 3 days of the weekend. First of all at the end of the year 3 days of extra weekend would add up to more than one month and you would get to have friends sleep over on Mondays or. Third you would get to stay up later because is you had one more day of the weekend than you could.though some may argue that the extra month is better because they could have longer vacations, but for me my summer goes by too fast so it wouldn't make a difference. I would rather have a three day weekend than one more month of summer.

I would choose a three day weekend because three months of summer is a lot and it would be nice to have a three day weekend so you can relax a 1 day more. I think that would be really nice. Plus you can have three sleepovers if you wanted to. I think that a three day weekend would be very great.

I would rather have an extra month of summer because, you would much more time to hangout with your friends, go on a vacation, and SLEEP IN!!!! Although thi9s sounds great to me, some may argue a three day weekend is much better. For example, on a three day weekend you would have longer to do your school work. But who really wants to do school work! furthermore, I would a longer summer with lots of swimming and playing over a three day weekend.

I would choose this because I would have more time to do my homework, and I could rest so I can work hard in school. I would also choose a three day weekend because if you add the three day weekends up it would probably equal more than a month. However some may prefer an extra month of summer because you get it all in one time and three day weekends are spread out. That is why I would pick a three day weekend.

I would want a three day weekend because There are 36 weeks of school, and 31 days in a month. we also would have 4 days of school a week. it is also less school than having four months of summer. however, some people may say that an extra month of summer is better because you have more time to do the homework. even though that could be true, they could also give you more homework over the summer. I think that 3 day weekends are better.

I would rather have an extra month of summer. Because I get to have longer trips, I get to have more time to do my summer homework, and I only have 11 months of school. But some may argue that 3 day weekends is better because you only have 4 days of the week to do school. But an extra month of summer tops that because you get a whole month without school. An extra month of summer is very useful.

If I had to choose between a three day weekend or an extra month of summer, I'd choose an extra month of summer. I choose that because the school year would be only eight months long. Also, I'd get to do a lot more things during the summer. Finally, I'd might be able to go to the beach for four weeks instead of two. But some may argue that a three day weekend would be better because you would have more time to do the weekend homework, and you would have more free time. Although, you can't go wrong with an extra month of summer. It's pretty much making the summer longer and the school year shorter. That is why I would pick an extra month of summer vacation.

If I could choses, I would chose three-day weekend. I would chose a three-day weekend because there would be 36 more days in summer. Also, I would chose it because I would have more time to get things done. Finily, you have more time having fun. Although, some may argue that having a hole nother month in summer might be more fun. Forenstince, you could have that time to play with friends. However, with a three-day weekend you would have more time in summer. This is why I would want a three-day weekend.

ReplyDeleteI would pick a three day weekend because i could spend more time with my family. Also, I would go out of town sometimes to see my family members and to also see different places. I could also get a lot done and relax more. I would also not need to worry as much about homework. However, some people may prefer to have an extra month of summer because you can relax more go on vacation longer and have a great time. But you can do all of those things with three day weekends. Tat is why i rather have three day weekends then an extra month of summer.
