Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a civil rights activist in the 1950s and 1960s. He led non-violent protests to fight for the rights of all people, including African Americans. He hoped that America and the world could become a place where race would not impact a person's civil rights. He is considered one of the great orators of modern times, and his speeches still inspire us to this day.

I can use this quote in everyday life by showing love to someone even though they are being mean to me. Dr. Martin Luther King inspire's me to not judge people by how they look, or their color of their skin, or their race, but to judge them by how they act.

Like chase will punch me and then i will punch him back and then we will go into a full blown fight. So next time he punches me i shouldn't punch him back.

ReplyDeleteWhenever something is dark inside of you and you don't like it push through with love and light. You can also show love to people that don't show love you.
When somebody does not push through and show love, you can show love to somebody you don't even know.
Martin Luther King Jr. inspires me because he pushed through and went to jail to help his people and did whatever he could.

I chose the 1st quote: "No, violence is not the way. Hate is not the way"... I think it means that you shouldn't have violence, or hate, or bitterness to get the way you want. If you try to take it that way people won't like you and everything, but MLK Jr. didn't take it that way and he got the way he wanted: for all people to be treated equal. The way this will help me in my everyday life is to not treat my family and friends bitterness you need to treat them with love. That is what I think.

One quote from MLK is everybody can be great and everybody can serve, this quote means to me everybody is great full and nice at the same time as being a good friend. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” I think his quote means that fire can't fight with fire but you could extinguish it with water except he is talking about hate cant go with hate only love can. This applies to my life because if my brother says he hates me then instead of saying I hate you back I would say I love you or I would not add violence to the situation. Martin Luther King jr. was a peacemaker which makes me want to be one myself.

It also might help if you see the other side of the situation. MLK was doing a non-violence protest, many times and it helped. MLK inspires me because he had the patience of doing the boycott for about a year.
