Christmas Traditions

Dear students,

Most families have special Christmas traditions. Write about one tradition your family enjoys. Does your mom bake a certain kind of cookie each year? Do you assemble shoe boxes filled with gifts for needy children? Chop down your own Christmas tree? Sing Christmas carols at a retirement home?Describe this tradition in at least a 5 sentence paragraph.
Be sure to include:
  • a topic sentence
  • supporting details
  • complete sentences
  • correct spelling, capitalization (M.I.N.T.S.), and end punctuation.
  • a closing sentence
  • three of your spelling words

Happy blogging,
Mrs. Braddy

  1. A constant tradition I do with my family is called the Polor Express Party. We go to my grandparents house. My cusions and my second cusions come so it is a giant party. We eat pizza and play around until it was time to watch the movie. My grandfather is the codoctor and has become a expert at punching our tickets. after the movie we have hot chocolate. That is my Christmas tradition.

  3. Every year my family goes up to my grandparents house and make gingerbread houses. We would research ideas for our houses. Also, we would chuckle and have fun. Some years I make very simple houses.Next, I take advantage and eat all of the candy or cover my house in all I can think of. I also like taking my time and putting detail on. That is a Christmas tradition I have every year. Asher

  5. One of my family traditions is that we always put up 2 unfamiliar Christmas trees. 1 of them has very mysterious peacocks on it. The other 1 has ortaments on it. Speaking of Christmas trees, we better get to business! That is what my family does for Christmas!

  6. One of my families traditions is on christmas morning my sister has to text my dad to come up with blindfolds so we can not see all the presents and he brings us into the bed where all of the stockings are sitting on the bed and my dog eating all the things in them. Then we get the stocking and open them while my dad films up. Then after that we go out to see the presents with my dog. When we are done opening the presents and my dog eats all the wrapping paper we go to my grandmothers house and open all the other presents with them and my dog still comes and eats all the wrapping paper. I could go on what we do but it would take like a day so I am going to stop here. George c

  7. My main tradition is that we make ginger-snap-cookies. Sometimes, we make to many, and we eat to many and that, is when our stomach starts to disagree with us. Sometimes even I am surprised how many ginger-snap-cookies each year! The ginger snap cookies just, disappear in the first couple days. That is my Christmas tradition. -Buck

  8. One of my family traditions is since I was born every year we would go to my grandparents house in Missouri since I was born on Christmas in Missouri. My grandmother always has a twinkling star on her tree. And we of course bring my dog Diesel. Anyway, So every year we go to Missouri and on Christmas day we open presents with my family and then watch a bunch of Christmas movies. Then we go to my cousins house which is like five minutes away. My brother and I play with our cousins while the parents talk. Then that night we have my b-day celebration at my grandparents house. Then I open gifts and eat cake. Then we watch one last movie and then go to bed.

  9. One of my family christmas traditions is to do a popper thingy that has a toy in it.But when it pops it is unbelievable how loud it is!!!When it pops toys come out of it and the whole family just reaches out and aggressively tries to get the toy that looks like the most fun.One time we thought we were all incapable of doing one but then I did it.I think it was a game where you would try to make out a picture of santa or something and it was like a big puzzle. That is one of our family traditions that we do every year.

  10. One of my Christmas Traditions is to go to my Christmas church service. Then I go to my cousins house on Christmas Eve, and celebrate my cousins Birthday. On Christmas day we open our presents and play with them until dinner and then go to my grandmothers house for dinner and she has big sacks of presents for my family and cousins. These are some of our traditions to do during Christmas.
