Dear students,
Pretend that you are a wriggly, wiggly, roly-poly puppy, and you have been chosen as a Christmas present for a boy or girl.
- First, tell how you feel saying good-bye to your family.
- Then, describe being placed in a box under the tree.
- Finally, write about what it’s like to meet your new friend and owner.
Your paragraph must be at least 5 sentences long and include the following:
- a topic sentence
- supporting details
- complete sentences
- correct spelling, capitalization (M.I.N.T.S.), and end punctuation.
- a closing sentence

If I was a dog I would love to be a child's Christmas present. But, I would also feel sad having to leave my other family. I would be placed under the Christmas tree in a sparkling, glittery, shimmering, and gold box. I would have a big red and green bow. My new owner will be a girl with blonde hair and freckles named Rosie. She will be the most lovable, gentle, sweet, kind , and loyal pet owner you will ever meet. If I was a dog that was a Christmas present I would be the happiest!
ReplyDeleteIf I were a dog I would feel excited ,but I would also feel sad because I was leaving my family. I would say good bye to everyone. I would feel very spaced out inside a box. My owner I hope would be nice to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a dog about to be a Christmas I would feel sad leaving my parents. When I get put in box a I would feel very scared because I don't know if they are going to be mean and I wouldn't know where I was. When they open the box and I see that they are nice I would be happy and excited to be with a family that loves me.
ReplyDeleteIf were a little puppy about to be given to a little boy or girl for Christmas, when I say good bye to my family I would be sad to leave because I don't know the people.I would also be happy because i'm probably making a child's day. If I was placed under the tree in a box, I would hope it was a pretty big box. I would probably sleep most of the time, but then I might get up and stretch out and wiggle around. Then, when I get opened by the child I would be happy because i'm out of the box and making a child's day. I think it would be quite fun to be a puppy as a Christmas present being given to a child.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a puppy, I would feel sad to leave my mom and dad.I would say " I am of to another world mama and dada.I would feel hot in a box. Then I would feel all cool inside the house. Then I would lick my owner. That is how I would be a dog.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a christmas present as a dog I would be a french bull dog.I would have a little girl named Rosemary to be my owner. I would be very sad to leave my family.In my personal opinion I would probaly not like the dog food that Rosemary gave but I would like the cold walks we would go on in the winter!
ReplyDeleteI would be very sad to say goodbye to my family but very excited to meet my new owner. When I was under the tree I would make guesses about my new owner, and when I heard my owners voices I would be so excited. I would make wishes about my owner and be so excited.
ReplyDeleteFirst, If I were a dog I would be sad to leave my family but I would get a new family and they would love me just the way I am. Second I would not like to be under a tree by myself but it would totally be worth getting open with a smile on their face. Finaly getting opened and seeing my family it would be awsome playing with them and loving on them I would love to go outside and play with my family then go to sleep then wake up and find them.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a puppy who got chosen as a Christmas gift, I would be happy but sad at the same time. I would know that I would have to leave, so I would say bye lots of times, I would give them all presents, and I would invite all my family members over to say good-bye. When I was put under the tree, I would be in a blue box with a yellow bow on top. At last my owner would open the present, and I would lick him, and he would name me Bob. finally, my owner would play with me, and we would be friends.
ReplyDeleteAs I enter the stocking I'm nervous that I might bark but I'm so cozy in that fluffy stocking. So, I just fall asleep. I enjoy the stocking it is so comfortable. Then I felt like I only slept for a second. Just like that it was Christmas Morning
ReplyDeleteIf I was a puppy, I would feel pretty strange in the beginning. Mostly because dogs are blind for the first two weeks that they are alive. I think my dog breed would be a Golden Retriever. After I was allowed to explore the house, I would peek in every nook and cranny. When people would come pick out puppies, I would be the first puppy to come up to the person lick their nose. When it would be time for yo leave, I would lick my parents goodbye and tell them I love them very much. When I got home, I would begin to sniff and look around. But then my new owners would lift me up gently and put me in a box. It would be decorated in wrapping paper and tied with a curly ribbon. There would be a few breathing holes in the back. I would first act surprised about my new surroundings then go to sleep. When I wake up, I would feel my box being lifted of the ground. A child would open the box and would smile. I would have a ribbon tied around my neck. After I got to know my new owners, They would be my best friends.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a puppy I would be very sad to leave my family behind,but I would love to have a owner that could play catch with me,snuggle me, and other sweet things. But it would not be comfortable for me to stay in a box all night and I would not be able to fit, so I would have to snuggle up in a ball all night.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a puppy given a christmas gift, I would be really sad to leave my family but, I would also love to meet my new family! My dog breed would be a Shih Tzu, and my owner and new friend would be a little girl with brown hair and freckles her name would be Sophie. My new human parents would wrap me in a tight box (not very spacious..) with a red bow and dog wrapping paper, with breathing holes on the top. When Sophie opened my box I would jump out and lick her to death! She would be laughing and crying(with joy) at the same time!! I would run around the house getting used to the air and smells. I would love being a puppy and having a new friend!!
ReplyDeleteIf I was a puppy, I would be upset that I had to leave my brothers, sisters, and parents but excited to have a new owner. I would be named Rose like in Air Buds. My breed would be a Golden Doodle or Cavapoo. I would then be brought home from the location and I would make sure NOT to bark. I would not be feeling it under the tree in a box. NOPE I would not do that. I would stay in the parent's room. - NOT under a tree. Finally, is the big day! I will lay on my new owner and snuggle in during present time. But I would then needed to be taken out to the bathroom. P.S. I would prefer a girl owner.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a puppy and had to say good bye to my family I would be sad if my family was a nice family and happy if they were a mean family. When I was under the tree in a box I would get very nervous. I would sit in the box with my tail scrunched up in the box. Finally when I heard the kids run to the tree and hear them laugh I would pop out. I would run out to them and wag my tail.We would cuddle and they would hold me like a teddy bear. I would be a mutt. I would be 70% golden retriever 30% bulldog. We would have christmas dinner together and it would be a great day.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a dog being delivered I would be a pug. I would say bye to my family, and jump into Santa's sack. When I got to my new family's home, I would make my own lounge with a bed and everything. On Christmas morning, I would zip past my new owner and check out their house. Then, I would go back to see my new family. I would plop myself down on the floor and lay their doing nothing. It would be amazing if I was a pug.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a dog I would want to be a lab. I would not be exited if I were put in a box, and be taken away from my family to get stuck with a three year old that thinks i'm a evil monster. The three year old would try to dress me up in weird dog clothes. If your a puppy you would have to be sent to the trainer for six weeks. If your stuck in a box how do you go to the bathroom? When your a puppy you also have to get a lot of shots . I would not like to be a present for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIf I got chosen as someones christmas present, I would be so sappy!( a mix between sad and happy) My breed would be a golden doodle. I would hate saying goodbye to my mother but for pete's sakes people! I have been chosen as someones CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!! But in that box, I would feel like they were taking me somewhere like.... the ZOO!!!!! But after being put under the christmas tree like some animal, I would smell the christmas tree and the breakfast on christmas morning! I would have a red ribbon tied around my neck and I would be whining for some food! The person I am being given to would hear me and run to my box and open me!!!! First she would look confused(Probably because I am so cute that she thinks I am a stuffed animal) But then she would squeal like a wild pig and hold me tight. That would be the start of my very first friendship.
ReplyDeleteIf I were being sent to a different place that I didn't know about, I would be sad about leaving my family. I would also be a little excited about beginning a new life with a new family! When I would be put into the cage, I would start licking my owners faces to show how much I will miss them! While sitting under the tree in a box, I would think about how excited my new owners would be to see me! I would sit there quietly waiting patiently. As soon as the box would be taken of, I would spring out and start licking people to make them happy! But, all I will see is a big man in a suite laughing at me! He feeds me some cookies and uts me back in the box. I would grow sleepy, and I would dozed of in the box. A few hours later I would feel

big group of people hugging me! I would be named rose! I would have a bright blue ribbon tide around my neck. The new family would be my best friends!
If I was a dog I would feel sad to leave my parents. I would be scared to be under a christmas tree. Maybe I couldn't breath in the box. Maybe the owners shoke the box.It could be very bad. It would be bad, because you could end up with somebody mean.
ReplyDeleteIt is not good to say goodbye to your family because you will never be able to see them again. But being placed under a tree in a box that is where I draw the line, I am not getting in a box to later be seen by a annoying person, but it would smell good. It would be good to get out of a box after being in there for almost a month and it would also be blinding, but I would like my owner.
