For your final blog posts, you will write a persuasive paragraph in a series called "Would You Rather." In each post, I will give you a scenario, and you will have to defend your answer using the following criteria:
- A topic sentence stating your opinion
- At least 3 supporting sentences defending your opinion
- One counter argument
- A concluding sentence summarizing your writing
Here is your "Would You Rather" for today:
Would you rather win five million dollars or become a famous superstar?

P.S.-Here is my example:
If I had the choice to have a 3-day weekend every week or have an extra month of summer vacation, I would rather have a 3-day weekend every week. If I had a 3-day weekend instead of 2 days, I would get a lot more done! In addition, I would not have to work as much, and I could spend more time working out, shopping, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with my friends. Plus, I would not feel so rushed on my weekends. I could even go out of town for long weekends and visit family and friends! However, some may prefer an extra month of summer vacation because they could take longer trips. I think the benefits of longer weekends out weigh the benefits of an extra month of summer. I prefer having a 3-day weekend rather than having another month of summer vacation.
If I had a choice I would become a famous super star because you can also get a lot of money being a famous super star and if I was famous for my singing I would be doing something I love too.
ReplyDeleteI would rather win 5 million dollars because you could buy anything and you would be stupid rich!!!!! You would also have major bragging rights. However, being famous would be nifty because you would be known and loved by mostly everyone. I think winning 5 million buckaroos top being famous.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice to either win five million dollars or to become a famous superstar I would choose to win five million dollars, for a lot of reasons.First of all, I would donate most of the money to vanderbilt, goodwill, and other charities. Secondly, I would adopt ALL of the animals in the pounds and build a whole house just for them, so they can get adopted faster. Lastly, I would want to win five million dollars over becoming a superstar because I don't really want to become a superstar, and because I have stage fright!

I would also be well known to everyone. some people may think that having five million dollars would be better and you would have more money , but being a superstar would be better because you could make more than five million. that is why I chose being famous.
ReplyDeleteI would have 5 million dollars. I could buy lots of tvs. Also, I could buy a baseball field. I also could have an arcade room in the house I was in. If I was a superstar though, you could earn a lot of money too. I would like to have 5 million dollars.
ReplyDeleteI would rather win five million dollars because I don't want to be famous. I don't want to be famous because when you are famous people record your every move, you have no privacy. Some might think being famous because you can earn that money but I think wrong because would you rather have privacy or lots of money constintly with no privacy????
ReplyDeleteIf I had choice, I would choose to become famous. I would like to become famous because you could earn $5,000,000 or more from being famous. You could also get a lot of special treatment and you could have fans. You could travel the world in your own jet. You could go to fancy stores and not have to worry about you spending to much money. Also, you could go to local hospitals and donate money to the people that can not afford the surgery. Those are just some of many reasons why I think it is better to be famous that to have $5,000,000.

ReplyDeleteI would rather become famous because you will make more money and you will be noticed by millions of people and you can do lots of cool things. You would Also be able to walk on the red carpet.
ReplyDeleteI would be famous because you would get that much a year at least. For Example Aaron Rodgers gets 20 million dollars every year and his signing bonus was 34 million. That is why I would want to be famous instead of getting five million dollars.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the chose of becoming famous or owning a million dollars I would chose owning a million dollars. I would use my money to buy a large library full of classic books. I might also donate some of the money to a no-kill animal shelter or the Blood Water mission. These are just some of the ways that I would like to help the community with my money. Some people might disagree with me because they think that famous people earn as much ( or more ) money. I think that this might be true but I would not want people following me around If I tried to go somewhere as simply as going to the grocery store. These are some of the reasons why I would chose owning a million dollars over becoming famous.

ReplyDeleteBecause if you were famous you could earn more than five million dollars. Another reason I would choose that is because I could have lots of fan that would come to my concerts, plays, and or movies. The last reason is because I would be doing what I love for a job. Some may argue that if you won five thousand dollars you could have a ton of money to spend, but eventuly you would run out of money and if you were famous you could just earn more. Those are my reasons why I think being famous would be so much better.
I would choose to have five million dollors because I could buy my dream house and evrey thing else I ever wanted then I would use the mony left over to lanch my carrer then I could make tons of money
ReplyDeleteIf I could be a superstar or have $5000000 I would choose $5000000. I would choose that because I wouldn't have to work a day of my life. I also could donate it to charities. My final reason is that I could buy whatever I want. However, some people may argue that they would be superstars because they could make more money, but if you have $5000000 you could invest it and make more money. That's why I think it would be better to have $5000000.

On the other hand some people may say you could become famous because you are so rich! If I win 5 million dollars or become famous then I would choose to become famous.

Last, I could live in a pent house in NYC or LA! Some might argue that getting a 5 million dollars is better because you could by what ever you want to have. DeleteIf I had to choose between having five million dollars or being a famous superstar. One reason is that I could be an NBA basketball player. Another reason is that you might get more money than five million dollars. The last reason is that you could maybe get a ferari. Some people might think getting five million dollars is better. Because you could maybe get more money and be able to buy more things. Though I think becoming a famous superstar would be better because I could be famous and get into the NBA.

One reason I would want to be a superstar is because everyone would know who I am, and that would be really cool. Another reason is I could influence kids and people, and that would be cool to have that impact on people. The last reason I think it would be cool is because I would get to meet other famous people. However, some might argue that winning 5 million dollars would be better, because you could buy anything you want. Over all I think becoming a superstar would be better.

Because would if you were a super star you arn't garented a lot of money. 5 million dollars is a lot of money and you can make more money to add more onto it. Also you could put it in a savings account and forget about it till your in a bad money sitiwation and if I was a super star I would be timpted to use it.
